This restaurant was truly wonderful.
I'm solo backpacking around northern Italy, and travelled on the Bernina train to St Moritz. Staying in Poschiavo for one night, en route to Lecco tomorrow.
Being Sunday, most of the restaurants were closed. They were booked up, but after going away and later returning (to ask if I could possibly have a take way pizza!) they very kindly found me a table.
I've eaten solo for many years (working overseas in 5* hotels). But with age, and having been unwell, I feel more anxious/ less confident now.
But the waiters were all so kind.
The food was AMAZING as well. The meat cooked beautifully, and the red wine perfectly smooth.
I've taken this trip to make happy, peaceful memories.

We did the 'Guided Tour' of the Hotel plus the Pizzocheri lunch for 25CHF each. The tour of the Hotel was done in English by a local staff member. She was clear, articulate, friendly, patient and also proud of the beautiful hotel and it's rich history. The Hotel's history is linked to many major events in the region's history.
We were then offered delicious Pizzocheri and local red wine in the restaurant, which was the erstwhile entrance of the 350 year old building and about 175 year old restaurant.
