Restaurant Beyeler in the Park — Restaurant in Riehen

I never write reviews but the bad service here needs to be highlighted so that future customers have fair warning. I can't even comment about whether the food was any good as no one came to take our order. After 25 minutes of asking and waving at the staff, they all said that the dark haired waitress would come take our order, and then finally even the dark haired waitress herself said she would come take our order, but nothing happened - she just slowly continued chatting with other tables. Even people who had arrived after us were served before us. Fed up, and hungry, we left and ate elsewhere. We are regular visitors to the Beyeler Gallery but we will not attempt to eat at this place again. Such a shame and a very poor reflection on the otherwise excellent art gallery next door, but they simply don't seem to care about customer...

Went for a few wines and a cheese board after visiting the gallery. Small but nice and considered menu, and the ambience was very nice. Cosy but light and bright. When we went to leave I was shocked and stressed to find that my winter coat had been taken from the communal coat area. BUT we spoke with one of the ladies who worked there and she was very sweet and attentive. Understood why I was worried and then escorted us back to the main gallery to go look in the main coat area, where thankfully we found it (no love to the person who just ditched it there!!) I didn’t catch the girls name but I wanted to extend thanks because she treated me and the situation really...

Hopper hat mich einmal mehr nach Riehen geführt. Die Ausstellung ist wahrhaft empfehlenswert, schliesst aber am 29.9.20 ihre Pforten. Was immer auch für eine grossartige Ausstellung einen hierher führen wird, dem sei ein Besuch des Restaurants empfohlen. Besonders bei schönem Wetter ist das Gartenrestaurant im Berowerpark eine kleine Oase, bevor man sich wieder Richtung Lörrach oder Basel ins Gewimmel stürzt. Ich folgte um 12.30h einem spontanen Einfall, kaperte mir einen letzten freien Platz und fand eine kleine Auszeit... Das Küchenteam empfahl als Menüteller ein "Flanksteak, Fenchel, Tomate, Mais". Mit Fr. 29.00 sicher an der oberen Grenze, ein zusätzlicher grüner Salat hätte noch Fr. 8.00 gekostet. Was da aber innerhalb von drei (!) Min. serviert wurde, sah prächtig aus. Sicher auch wieder eher eine kleine Portion für den Preis, aber geschmacklich der Hammer! Für einen Mittagsteller schlicht umwerfend: aromatisch, auf den Punkt zubereitet, von der Konsistenz her genau richtig, zum Glücklichsein. - Bloss... leider war alles auf dem Teller lauwarm bis kalt🙄 Es hätte nicht superheiss sein müssen, aber die Maiskölbchen auf dem Maispüree waren kalt, alles andere, inkl. Fleisch lau bis lau-warm. Auf meine Reklamation hin offerierte man mir einen Espresso zum Nachtisch und entschuldigte sich ehrlich. Also, ok, ich probiere es gan bestimmt wieder PS. Auch wenn es niemand mehr lesen mag, hier trotzdem: Corona ist auch für das Service-Personal eine Herausforderung. Die Crew des Beyeler Restaurant meistert diese sehr gut! Man setzt sich nett, höflich aber bestimmt durch und muss sich viel anhören. Die Nerven zu behalten und trotzdem noch anständig zu bleiben... gratuliere, das haben sie gut gemacht.
