One of the best filet des perches This a spectacular setting overlooking Lac Leman and the pier but more so from the shaded outdoor terrace There is a wide ranging menu to cater for all tastes including ‘ suggestions du jour ‘ which are specials of the day which are set at very reasonable price The filet des perches, a signature dish in Switzerland and particularly in lake regions, in most restaurants in the region are foreign supplied usually Estonia or Poland. They can be also of high quality but they obviously arrive frozen with little knowledge perhaps as to the process. This seems to determine how well they grill, whether they are dry or significantly curled but this may relate to the cooking process After twenty five years of addiction to filet des perches during our frequent visits to Switzerland and experienced them in many many restaurants yesterday the gold standard was experienced at Debarcadere - without doubt the best I have ever experienced It was stated on the menu that their origin was Lac Leman and I always question whether they are fresh or frozen or not from Lac Leman at all as it is somewhat fished out.So there is always a level of scepticism that you will be told whatever you want to hear. The staff member rightly so within the scope of his restaurant was a little offended and produced the current receipts of the supplier of fresh Lac Leman filet des perches but informed in a transparent way that as soon as supply is finished they resort to frozen foreign supply. This is so rare and filet des perches did not disappoint - the best ever - right size not curled up moist flavoursome grilled to perfection generous in portion and no disguise with a sauce they were naked so to speak and nowhere to hide.Congratulations Restaurants notably use frozen French fries from the packet - they are often bland not crispy but soft inside.Whatever the background of Debarcadere french fries whether ‘fait maison’ or frozen they were delicious and with skin My wife had ‘ suggestions du jour ‘ and chose the turbot - with sole the champagne of fish often at exorbitant prices in restaurants. The turbot was Swiss Franc 32 a steal of a price which was a generous portion of two pieces cooked to perfection moist flavoursome which broke away from the knife even though it is generally a firm fish.It was accompanied by ratatouille and lobster bisque sauce Restaurants often fluctuate in their consistency for a number of reasons and Debarcadere has raised our expectations and wish them the best to maintain such...
Read moreI went there with my wife, my daughter and mother in law. We booked and we told them that we had also a stroller. First, let me tell you that the place is very nice. The table they gave us was also nice and comfortable, the waiters helped us a lot in accommodating everything. We decided to have 2 soups and a salad as entry, then 2 rices with truffle and a dish "suggested by chef". This last one was composed of pork meat, rice and some vegetables. Everything was delicious and of the best quality. During the dinner my wife had to feed our daughter and the owner, seeing that she was not eating the rice, asked if everything was OK and if she needed him to put the rice in a warm place for later. It's a nice gesture that shows that you want to take care of your clients. We ended our dinner with 2 moelleux au chocolat. They were also amazing. On the top of this the prices are also very reasonable for a Swiss standard. I will come...
