Never would I have expected to find the best calzone I’ve ever had in Sarnen — but Da Mario completely surprised me.
I visit a client in the area every couple of months, and at this point, stopping at Da Mario has become a ritual. Their calzone is nothing short of extraordinary: perfectly baked dough, rich, flavorful filling, and that satisfying balance you only find when a kitchen really knows what it’s doing. I’ve had calzones across Italy and beyond, and this one still takes the top spot.
What really sets this place apart, though, are the thoughtful touches. Spicy oil and fresh pepper are brought to your table without even having to ask, which is such a nice gesture.
