This was our second stay at this wonderful small hotel. The Fex Valley is a beautiful spot to enjoy nature, go cross country skiing and relax. We were transported in a timely fashion via the hotel's van on the first day. Other trips to Sils Maria were easily made via the walking path. We were given a free pass for transportation in the area via bus or train from Sils Maria.||||The hotel was very clean and our room was spacious. Comfortable beds and a nice bathroom. We had a lovely view looking up the valley, The hotel also offered a storage room with boot dryer and ski racks to store our gear. There is a library room which offers a common space for all guests. The dining area is large and has an outdoor deck for basking in the sun and enjoying a drink.||||The breakfast was very complete and nutritious. Muesli, eggs, yogurt, fresh artisan bread, jams, a cheese board featuring local cheeses, fresh fruit and teas and coffees. The dinners were artfully made with 4 courses and locally sourced foods. Wonderfully fresh salads, homemade soups, various healthy entrees and house made sorbet and fruits for dessert. The wine cellar is extensive and many fine wine pairings were given.||||Susanne was personable, friendly and very helpful with information about the area. We appreciated her kindness.||||We highly recommend this hotel to...

Read moreThe unfriendly and complicated booking process and the fact that the owner kept us waiting for the shuttle for 15 minutes in temperatures well below zero despite having had to agree on the pick-up time the day before made us lower our expectations but we certainly were not prepared for the way we were treated at dinner. The owner orally proposed the 4 course menu (not mentioning that there was a la carte service) which we both ordered, in my wife’s case without desert - even though she was kindly offered an alternative one. She was asked if she just wanted the single items, a question we understood only when the bill came: she was charged the price of 3 separate dishes, which was about 10% higher than the price of the full menu (even though the portions were exactly the same)!!! The owner agreed when my wife said she should have chosen the full menu and left the desert untouched, adding that this was the common practice in the region and answering to our objections that she wouldn't be a good business woman had she warned us of the higher price in advance. Never have we felt so cheated in a restaurant before. Do yourself a favour and don't go there: Val Fex luckily has lovely restaurants with very good service, where they don't charge more for not ordering the full menu......
