Hello you who are reading this post! I have to start with the fact that this is the first time I write a review for a restaurant experience. Unfortunately, it was HORRIBLE :( I will share what happened so you can decide if you would consider this post or not. Let me just add that I have worked in a Mexican restaurant, I have been a waitress, and a bar-tender, and I have been to many Mexican restaurant in my life so far.
My partner and I went for dinner at Mexicano last night for his birthday. I am not going to comment on the atmosphere, because thats not that important to me when I go to eat, rather I will focus on the drinks and food. Usually when you hear Mexican restaurant you think of chips and salsa accompanied with Margarita on the rocks with salt, right? So, I order regular margarita. The color of the drink was white. Tasted like sugar, made with barely any ice. Of course, I had to take it back. The second drink that I was offered by the lady who made the "Margarita" was Kaipirinjia. I was wiling to try and was still excited for the dinner. The Kaipirinjia came with at least 10 limes wedges on the bottom, some crushed ice and some liquid, but neither my partner nor I could figure it what it was, because the drink tasted like lime juice. The nachos that came were funny looking chips with cheese. I don't call this nachos. Very disappointing. Kids can make this themselves. The shrimp fajitas that I order for main course came on a sizzling plate that seemed like never sizzled. The taste of the shrimp was like frozen shrimp, and next to it had the very tiny little like a nail size shrimp ( I am not sure if they are also called shrimp) also tasting like frozen or from a can...Really speechless of the taste. The plate that comes to the shrimp consisted of all kinds of nasty veggies. Green beans, carrots, pickled peppers, fresh cabbage, a spoon of beans, cheese that was cut on cubs, not even shredded, and sour cream, guacamole, and salsa that were in paper ramekins, like in a fast food restaurant. The salsa didnt taste like homemade, neither the guacamole. They sale these kinds in the super markets... The flour tortillas got hard in 5 mins, and were almost not eatable. My partner got lamb fajitas. The meat was overcooked, with no taste, and the rest that came on the side was the same as the mentioned earlier. Overall, TERRIBLE experience. The service was okay. The lady was nice, but not very caring when she saw that I didn't touch my drink for at least 10 mins... We threw away $120 last night. If it was not my partner's birthday, I would have left. I am so disappointed, and sad that he didn't enjoy his birthday. If the owner of this place need some help about making drinks and some restaurant tips can PLEASE contact me. I am willing to help and save this horrible experience to other people. Thank you for reading, and I hope I could be helpful making the right...
