Four of us on a motorcycle tour. We stayed for 2 nights in July at the Seminar Linde. The hotel is comfortable and the staff are great. I must mention Osi, who did everything he could to make us feel welcome, and Amanda and Vikki the barmaids - if Carling did barmaids!||We found the hotel most accommodating for bikers, with locals and staff alike ready to talk about good routes in the area.||The hotel sits on a main road, but that's not a negative point - you wouldn't notice it from inside your room. You may, however, notice the rather noisy delivery drivers early in the morning. On both our mornings there, deliveries began around 7.30.||The showers in the rooms are among the best we experienced during our 12 day tour. Big chapeau to the management for realisng that good showers are important. On recommendation by bar staff, we ate in the bar - meals are prepared in the same kitchen but are a bit cheaper. As one of only two restaurants in town, expect a busy place. There's an outdoor seating area where mostly locals sit for hours, and we found this was a great pace to while away the hours chatting and laughing with them. After 10.30pm, guests are obliged to go inside and make use of the cellar bar. During our visit, several local bikers came by and were very helfpul with local riding roads. Our ride out between nights there was brilliant - on back roads to Lake Thun and up to Grindelwald.||I would recommend the Seminar Linde for small groups and families. For a romantic couple I would say it works, but it's not a...

Read moreAt our arrival, they gave us a 3 people bedroom. Even when we were 2 adults and 2 babies, I've booked a 4 people bedroom and I had to claim it. As we didn't touch anything in the room, we were relocated immediately to the room we were booked. The room is clean, comfortable and spacious enough, but we the hotel runs also a bar. The first night we had noises 'till about 11 p.m, but the second night, the noises had us awake 'till almost 2 a.m. We tried to talk to the bartenders, but the place was closed with its noisy clients and staff inside. At the reception, nobody. Next morning, we left the place.||As many places/persons in Switzerland, the euro/swiss-franc exchange is sometimes... confusing. At the check out moment I had to remember the exchange rate of the day, which was cheaper for the than the day before, as the owner wanted to charge the prize with the oldest exchange. ||By the way: In many shops and business all around the country are going to try to cheat the european tourist by 1=1 euro/swiss fran exchange. Be aware, because euro is much more expensive than the national franc.||Overall: Very close to the train station, so you can be in less than 30 minutes in the centre of Berna. The breakfast, included in the prize, was right, and the hotel would be right too if it would be possible to sleep, but as far as they give priority to the bar business over the hotel clients rest, is difficult to consider it a place to rest. And about the environment, well... I won't come back to Switzerland until it...
