Café Bar Restaurant Grand-Montfleury — Restaurant in Versoix

So, a friend reserved this restaurant for a farewell dinner. We were about 13 in total and already informed the restaurant we will have ‘gambas & charbonnarde à gogo’ which the restaurant is specialized for. Once seated, it took at least 15min to get the waiters attention to order drinks. We all asked for soft drinks for first, and these took another 10min to get to us! When ready to eat, we were surprised by the portion size, we only had max 2 gambas 🦐 per person with each serving they brought, it took at least 30min between each serving!!! Remember we called in advance to say we were a big group having the all you can eat menu ‘gogo’. They brought 1 plate of fries for a table of 13 and when we asked for vegetables they gave us 1 small bowl and told us they had no more vegetables!!! We complained about the service and lack of food, but this didn’t seem to bother them, one friend even went to ask if it was because there were several colored people on the table and one of the restaurant staff very aggressively came to the table and started shouting and making a scene about the comments. Clearly shows it bothered him and reading from other reviews the staff tend to judge their clients based on appearance. In todays times they should be wise enough to know looks can be deceiving. After 2 servings of a total of 4 shrimps each, we were informed that the kitchen would soon close, so they forced us to switch to the charcoal grill. The table grills were not hot enough to grill the meat, they insisted this is the normal temperature and we should hurry as the kitchen was closed! It was a horrible experience, I would highly recommend you avoid this restaurant, it’s horrendous! Further more we paid CHF 850 at the end for 4 gambas each, 1 glass of water, salad and tiramisu! We gave back the meat as we couldn’t grill it!!! Disastrous restaurant I DONT RECOMMEND!!! NOT WORTH A PENNY! AVOID, BESIDES YOU WILL BE JUDGED BY YOUR APPEARANCE. I wanted to go there for Lunch. The atmosphere was already weird and when I asked the lady with the dark hair - who was mentioned in other reviews here (very politely and in french I might add) where the Toilets are she barked at me if I‘m a customer and looked at me disgusted. Le service laissait vraiment à désirer. Pour une table de 10 personnes, il a fallu attendre 40 minutes pour qu'une personne reçoive son verre de Chardonnay (bien que s’il s’agissait d’un cocktail ça aurait pu être compris). Nous avons opté pour la formule des gambas à volonté, mais celles-ci étaient trop cuites et impossibles à décortiquer. Deux convives ont choisi la fondue bourguignonne, la viande était excessivement dure. Lorsque nous avons fait part de nos désagréments à la serveuse, elle a simplement ignoré nos commentaires.

À la fin du repas, nous nous sommes vu offrir un Limoncello ou une Grappa par la maison, tout le monde a refusé mais trois personnes ont demandé si elles pouvaient avoir un amaretto à la place. La demande a été refusée au motif que la direction s'y opposait malgré tous les problèmes rencontrés, ce qui contraste avec la générosité d'offrir 10 limoncellos alors que ces derniers ont tous été refusé. Je tiens à précisé que nous avons réglé l'addition, s'élevant à CHF 600.-.

Bien que je fréquentais régulièrement ce restaurant, je préfère désormais parcourir 20 km de plus pour dîner dans un établissement de qualité à Genève plutôt que de subir un tel traitement, surtout pour célébrer mon anniversaire.
