Braceria zur Traube — Restaurant in Visp

I was in Visp, Switzerland for business and I was looking for a dinner place. I walked the main street and my initial thought was I was going to have pizza in a restaurant that I knew and head back to the hotel. Unfortunately, the pizzeria was closed so I turned back feeling a bit disappointed. After a few meters walking back, I saw a sign that the Bracceria Zur Traube was open. I took a look through the window as I was not sure if it was open. Nevertheless, I tried to open the door and it was open. The waitress was lovely and very professional on the go. She welcomed me very warmly and gave me a place. I ordered a glass of processco and I have to say, one of the best glasses I have ever had. This was the start of a wonderful unexpected evening. I was given the menu and I ordered the Fiorentina steak with fries. The meat I got was delicious and so tender. The waitress suggested a red wine for me that would match the food. I am so glad I followed her suggestion. The owner came to my table and personally asked me if everything was fine. He was extremely friendly. Before the night was over, I knew I already wanted to go back to that same restaurant again. I was far from home but the restaurant and the people working there made me feel like I was home because I felt the love and warmth. If you are looking for a wonderful meal with an amazing service, I will honestly recommend this restaurant. You know the saying, "Do not judge a book by its cover?" I believe that is the correct description for this wonderful restaurant. I am learning to speak Italian now and despite the errors I make when speaking, they never give me the feeling that I am wasting their time. I can't wait to go back there....

In der Speisekarte steht, dass alle Speisen frisch gemacht werden und es deshalb zu Wartezeiten kommen kann. Logisch, da bin ich auch voll beim Betreiber, sofern das keine Unwahrheit ist.

Bekommen haben wir hundertprozentig NICHTS frisches.

Ich bestellte mir als Vorspeise ein Carpaccio. Das Fleisch war am Rand völlig vertrocknet, als hätte es schon ewig irgendwo rumgestanden. Leider ungenießbar.

Mein Hauptgang war dann eine Lasagne. Sie war aussen sehr heiß und innen lauwarm. Meinen Geschmack hat sie nicht getroffen. Mehr kann ich dazu nicht sagen.

Meine Partnerin bestellte als Vorspeise überbackene Auberginen. Diese waren teilweise nicht ganz durch.

Die Gnocchies waren leider völlig verkocht. Meine Vermutung: lange vorher vorbereitet (entgegen der Angabe in der Karte, dass alles frisch sei) und dann schon zu lange gekocht, sodass das Essen beim Aufwärmen für den Gast leider Matsch wird. Da muss der Koch wohl noch üben.

Als wir die Vorspeisen fast unangerührt abräumen ließen, wurden wir gefragt, was los sei. Höflich äußerten wir unsere Kritik. Leider schien die vorher sehr zugewandte Bedienung persönlich beleidigt über unsere Kritik. Es gab nichtmal ein kleines „Sorry“. Mindestens das Carpaccio hätte man, da es ungenießbar und vertrocknet war, von der Rechnung nehmen müssen.

Toiletten: Müffeln!

Der Inhaber scheint hier ja auf Rezensionen zu reagieren. Gelesen habe ich, dass er die Kritik gern direkt erfahren hätte, um dann wohl Lösungen zu suchen oder sonstwas. Wir haben Kritik direkt vor Ort höflich geäußert, passiert ist nichts. Hauptsache das...

I did have a good time to the restaurant. I did try the pizza and pasta also in two different days. I give 10 to both.
