Additionally, the welcome was genuine and friendly (also for the accompanying canine guest) and the owner and staff (plus a fellow guest) went way beyond the call of duty to give route advice for our onward journey.||The restaurant offers a creative, grandiose nouvelle cuisine plus an extensive wine list featuring predominantly French and Swiss classics. It is also pricey (dinner for one was more than twice the price of the room) - with, however, a less costly bistrot (also popular with the locals) for the more budget conscious.||The food and the accommodtion balanced each other out - with the whole providing a comparative bargain (for Switzerland).||Bottom line: a real alternative for travellers who find it difficult to resist the magic of Switzerland (and its cuisine) but are scared by the rapidly rising value of the Franc. The attention to detail in this kitchen raises to the same top level of quality.
