We were staying in Geneva and took a weekend getaway to Chateau Salavaux. We booked the “Wine and Dine” package which included our lodging in a Superior Room and a four course dinner with wines paired with each course. Everything was fantastic! The people who run the Chateau have done a wonderful job updating the rooms while keeping the historic rooms as very comfortable, well-appointed room with a cozy, rustic yet chic decor. We requested to be able to drop our bags prior to check-in, but they were nice enough to get our room ready two hours early. ||The hotel staff/owners have created a lovely venue with wonderful hospitality and which is very welcoming. In a sense, we felt at home. Just superb!||The food and wine were fantastic as well. We very much enjoyed the tastes and presentation of each course, including an amuse bouche, and the wonderful local wines that were paired with each course.||We also had breakfast in the morning which had egg dishes and a buffet with breads, cheeses, charcuterie, cereal, pastries, and fruit, with coffees and juices as well. We were very satisfied. We look forward to visiting again in the future for a...

놘 – It's not really a castle- room was ok but very expensive and no mirror in the bedroom, nothing special. Not enough staff at breakfast either.||||I found out when booking that the restaurant is closed on Wednesdays- not a problem. But they do not warn the guests that there is no staff whatsoever, no access to the bar or even a kettle to make a tea in the evening.||||We came back at 20 30, having had dinner in Morat, to a locked up hotel, empty , dark and dead.||||At this price, it's not acceptable.||||We are on holiday, and were looking forward to having a drink and read in the lounge, or at least finish the evening in style.||||When we talked and complained|||| to one of the manager the next day at breakfast, it became apparent that the management is saving money by not having enough staff and he commented that it was a" bed and breakfast" on Wednesdays!! ||At over £ 200 a night?? No way...||Don't bother to book with a Wednesday night.||||It's a new management since after the pandemic, and a very strange attitude in September to...

This 16th century château among the vines on the terraced slopes above Lake Murten is home to an elegant boutique hotel run by three passionate young hospitality professionals. While much of the chateaux maintains its old world charm, the restaurant is minimalist and modern – my favourite touch is the shiny Berkel slicer in the corner and the delicious cold cuts that come off it as an amuse bouche. The menu is modern too, featuring foams, gels and similar touches. Seeland – the area around the nearby lakes – has some of Switzerland’s best farming land and the kitchen makes great use of local produce, including blackberries churned into a vibrant sorbet topped with local sparkling wine as a palate cleanser. I haven’t stayed here, but I have seen the beautifully refurbished rooms, which look very comfortable – love the semi-open bathrooms to make the most of the space.

With my wife we had the pleasure of spending a long weekend at this exceptional chateau! In terms of location, the hotel is set in a stunning region surrounded by 3 beautiful lakes. The setting alone is worth the stay, but the experience went far beyond that. We for instance enjoyed a couple of exquisite dinners, each offering refined and delicious cuisine by Chef Philippe Bouteille. Also one of the highlights was taking a bike ride through the beautiful vineyards - Amazing experience! Neïla, Flavio and their team were super friendly, offering best-in-class service and always going above and beyond to make sure we felt like home. And we really felt like home! We strongly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful haven where you can relax and enjoy a much deserved break. And we will of course be back!

We had lunch a Sunday mid March of 2025 in this upscale hotel-restaurant complex being nicely received and served by the young owner couple. The menu is restricted to three main course choices, one of which is fish (not from the nearby Lake Murten), another vegetarian. The dishes are elaborated and beautifully presented. Their wine list features local choices as well as wines from other parts of Switzerland and from the old and new world with rather elevated prices that also goes for the wine by the glass. We always remove one star for restaurants that have adopted the bad habits from restaurants in the German speaking part of the country, charging you for tap water despite ordering wine for your meal. Count over 100 CHF/person for a rather simple lunch with wine. Overall, not particularly good value for money.
