Unacceptable behavior from staff in such a world-class location.
I had a disappointing experience at the restaurant at the top of Matterhorn Glacier Paradise on May 28, 2025, around 11:00 AM. My friend and I entered to buy two cups of coffee, but were met with rude and aggressive behavior from one of the employees.
She was a woman with yellow-blonde hair and a tattoo of what looked like an alien face on her left elbow. From the moment we walked in, she gave us cold, sharp stares, making us feel unwelcome. Her attitude and tone were unnecessarily hostile, with an overall demeanor that felt more like someone lacking basic manners or professional training — as if she had never been taught how to treat people with respect.
Her behavior was completely out of place in such a prestigious and popular location. In a destination like the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise — visited by tourists from around the world — you expect warmth, professionalism, and hospitality.
Everyone else we met in Switzerland was incredibly kind and respectful, which made this incident stand out even more.
I hope the management addresses this situation seriously. Such unprofessional and disrespectful conduct damages the reputation of this world-class attraction and should not...
Read moreOverpriced. Tourist trap. Average food. They have signs on the wall that say you cannot drink or eat your own food that you bring. We found that extremely repulsive and drank our own water anyway. To use the restroom up here it cost you 2 CHF per use. Limited resources come to mind but the high price it costs to get up here should cover everything. My spaghetti Napoli cost 25 CHF and the “sausage” cost 16 CHF. The sausage looked just like hot dogs and fries. The food was pretty average with similar tourist run places (ie: Fronalpstock and Grindelwald First) or maybe even a bit below average. Seating is extremely limited so you may have to wait to sit down or sit with someone else at the table. There are decent views up here of the entire range however in my personal opinion the best Matterhorn views are before you get up here. I would recommend eating at any of the other restaurants on the gondola ride up instead of waiting to eat here. You’ll get cheaper food and probably...
Read moreThe restaurant is cozy, modern and well maintained. They have a wide variety of food, from salads, cakes, coffee tea hot wine, white wine Prosecco… etc. We had Rösti for lunch and it was delicious, a bit expensive but given you are on top of the mountain I consider it makes sense. The personal was super friendly and kind. Effectively they charge 2 CHF in case you need to use the toilet but if you consume then is free (ask the cashier). The view is just gorgeous so totally worth to have a drink or lunch here with the amazing mountains in front of you. Highly...
