Hotel a la Staziun — Restaurant in Zernez

At the very last minute, our bus from livigno was cancelled due to snow and closure of the tunnel between livigno and Switzerland. We were lucky that we managed to get a taxi from livigno before the tunnel was closed. Our plan was to get to the train station in zernez and make our way from there to Innsbruck (where we had a flight at 1pm the next day). The station was closed when we arrived and the aptly named Hotel a la Staziun was a one minute walk from the hotel even in deep snow. We had a room, wifi and a menu for dinner within five minutes of walking in the door. The room was basic but very comfortable. Toilet and showers are down the hall. Dinner was fantastic. A great surprise. The staff went above and beyond to help us find our way to Innsbruck by navigating the Swiss rail system. The girl in reception walked us to the ticket machine across in the station in the snow to get the tickets with us. She even printed out the itinerary for us - five trains from zernez to Innsbruck !!! |What amazing helpful and kind people. What we really liked: the delicious dinners the friendly service breakfast our room, cosy and sweetly renovated with sink, very clean and well furnished, including a TV

What we think could be improved: the hallway to the rooms the noise insulation of the rooms though we rarely needed to wait, we found 2 toilets and 2 showers for some 10 rooms a bit tightly calculated.
