I came here for dinner and made a reservation online. . The sign in process for contact tracing was a bit much - they asked for your name, birthdate, email address, phone number, and mailing address — for each single person at the table. The questionnaire ended with asking for the name of the personnel that helps you and that you may be asked to show the confirmation email to be served…. I find it a bit much to ask for this much personal detail. Birthdate? Really? . If you don’t fill out the form, you cannot order as the menu is connected. . The portions are huge. The neighboring table ordered calzones and they all had to take the rest home. The pizzas are also just as big. . The ambience is like a cafe, not so much restaurant style. But the food is still good. . They gave us a free piece of bruschetta as a starter. There is no beer on tap, unfortunately. . So regarding the pizza - I found the toppings to be a bit much. They put three mozzarella balls on my pizza including what felt like 250g of hard cheese. There wasn’t much tomato sauce base, so I found it a bit dry. . The tiramisu was huge, a bit too much cacao powder on top and it was a lot of liquid inside. . All in all, it was a pleasant experience and the food was good.

A fantastic casual trattoria-like experience on the outskirts of Zürich. This place is definitely worth a visit and going out of your way for. Can easily be reached with tram #7. The pasta, homemade tagliatelle with porcini, was delicious and the pizzas were also super tasty. No soggy mess, perfectly crispy and toppings evenly distributed for consistent tasty bites. The pizzas are available with a regular edge or a thin edge. I recommend the regular edge, as the rest of the pizza is a bit thinner!

This will be there first restaurant i would rate the minimum. We called them at 1:15 PM to reserve a place (as other reviews on Tripadvisor say that go with reservation). They told they will close at 2PM and I confirmed i will reach in 15-20 min. Hence they agreed and confirmed we can come.

So we were there and placed the order for a veg Pizza by 1:40 PM. We patiently waited for 20 minutes and then the owner (bulky guy in the picture) comes to inform in a very straight forward and rude tone then it's 2 PM and he had even packed the pizza and asked us to take away (meaning leave the restaurant)

I understand it was 2PM and they had to close but if we were even told this while ordering or while on the call that you can only take away then we may not have gone there. (The reviews earlier say that they are cooperative people and even took orders just before closing time ; so we had gone).

I wanted to have a conversation with him to ask if he can let us eat the hot pizza here itself for 5-10 minutes but he said he can only speak in Italian and German. So we ended up leaving the place with the packed pizza while there were 6-7 people still eating in the restaurant.

My wife and myself were hungry as this was suppose to be the first full meal of the day since we had gone for a yoga class in the morning. So we had to eat half the pizza in the tram towards home. Out of courtesy, they had forgotten to even give tissues with the take away. Rest of the pizza (cold by now) we ate after reaching home. 😔

I was planning to go to this place on our first marriage anniversary next month, that would have been really foolish of me!

... In short Pizza was ok as long as it was hot Not happy with owner's behaviour (he may be a good person in general but i could not see that goodness in him that day) Know that owner won't speak to you if can't speak his language (Italian or German) Go early so that you don't end up in such a mess yourself Hope the ego of being one of the top rated restaurant in Zurich won't let this...

La Fonte is an excellent restaurant.

It is a place that I always go back to because of the very high quality of its dishes, their authenticity and the feeling of homemade. It is great to buy for delivery, and when you go into the actual restaurant they have daily specialties that are great to try. Note that I have tried many of their plates, both pastas and calzone, but not pizzas (yet).

The service is quite good. The owner is always walking around the restaurant and is a very attentive waiter, he even remembers peoples names, which is uncommon in Zurich. The employees are also good, and the food arrives quickly. In the few cases where it has not arrived super quick it has been because they were preparing the pasta fresh, and you could sense it in the texture and taste.

I believe the price-quality ratio is superb, and actually the quantities tend to be big, so make sure to not eat too much before going.

Note: I think most dishes are super good but the least consistent ones are the gnocchis al forno. If you order them, be specific about whether you want them with more sauce, or...
