Zweisimmen was one of the stops along the Golden Pass route. Since my boyfriend and I had some time to kill, we decided to look for a place to have small bites/snacks. Google showed us some good reviews for Brasserie zur Simme, so that's what we went with.
They weren't serving lunch yet, so we ordered off the snack menu. We had the cured meat plate with cheese and marinated olives. The meat was great - not overly salty or dry. But halfway through, we realized that they forgot the cheese. So we asked them about it and they brought out a plate of it. I'm glad we asked because it was some of the best cheese that we had in Switzerland. We also ordered the fruit cake with fresh whipped cream. I wasn't a huge fan because I don't like cooked fruit, and it was a little too sweet for my taste, but my boyfriend enjoyed it. I did like the fresh whipped cream though.
Also worth noting is that there were also bees everywhere (inside too, since they left the doors open - this was in September), so that took away from the dining experience. It's difficult to enjoy a meal when you're trying to avoid getting stung every five minutes or so. Service...

Saw this as a recommended spot not too far from the train station, so stopped by for lunch during our trip on the Golden pass train.
Our server Christian was very friendly and also funny, and helped recommend some good beers for us and some items from the menu, including the steak, the steak tartare, and the pasta.
FOOD The pasta of the day was a ricotta ravioli with a lemon zest which was really stunning and we hadn't had anything like that before. All the food was excellent quality and the asparagus on the side was very fresh as well. The dessert is also generously sized, the whiskey ice cream is really good by itself or served with coffee which really gave it an extra kick.
We really enjoyed this place and would recommend it for anybody...
Read moreWe didn’t expect such a nice French inspired restaurant in Zweisimmen. Only had a short stay as we were headed early next morning to the balloon festival. The brasserie surprised us by all means. Service, menu and drinks were fantastic. They had several kinds of mulled wine, rare find. Choosing from the menu was tough, everything sounds delicious. We opted for a daily soup, I had the tartare and my husband had the Suure Mocke from their winter menu. Flavors were great and we enjoyed everything. Unfortunately no more space for dessert. This place is reason enough to come back...
