Wow! I had high hopes for Estrella del Mar, as my first visit to them. First of all, it's a beach club, which they don't advertise in their name. I found it to be a very noisy place to have a simple quite dinner. I was expecting an upscale restaurant based on their food prices, but I'll get to that later.

As we were seated, I noticed there were 5 dogs in the restaurant, and they wanted to seat another group next to us with a huge dog. I refused them to do so, and they were seated somewhere else.

The dogs began to bark at each other, so I asked the waiter to take care of it. To my surprise, he didn't do anything, so I went up to the owners and complained about the noise. After that, I had no more issues with all the dogs in the restaurant.

We looked at the menu, and noticed it had been severely reduced from their menu on the internet (Facebook). All the food items I wanted to try, had been taken off, and only the cheap, but costly items, and the highly expensive items (over $500NTD) remained. It was a very big dissapointed. My wife and I ordered the beef with rice dinner for @$360, and I ordered the fish fry for $260. As soon as we ordered our food, we were asked to pay, before the food came to our table, and we would have to pay for individual items after the initial payment.

The beef with rice dish was hot pot beef and a total rip off. My fish fry, was pre-frozen fish stick, which made me sick to my stomach. As we pte-payed, there was no options to complain and send back this terrible food.

The "Estrella del Mar" needs to visit the "Cijin Sunset Beach Bar" to truly understand what the locals and tourists of Cijin expect.

Shame on you "Estrella del Mar". You should close your door and quit ripping off...

Visiting this small town by ferry for a day trip was a pretty cool experience—it felt somewhat similar to Cheung Chau in Hong Kong. We rented an electric bike to explore and stumbled upon this beach club, a bar and restaurant combo. Given the warm weather with summer approaching, we opted to sit indoors to cool off.

The food menu was simple but offered a good variety. We especially enjoyed the green curry chicken—it was flavorful and satisfying. However, it was a bit surprising that it came with a set including miso soup and a Japanese squid starter. Isn’t green curry a Thai dish? A curious mix, but still enjoyable.

Drinks, on the other hand, were quite slow. We had to remind the server after finishing all our food dishes before they arrived. That said, the tea we ordered was good.

An interesting quirk here is the ordering process. The server comes to your table to take your order, but you’re required to pay first at the counter afterward. It left us wondering why we couldn’t just order directly at the counter from the start—seemed a bit unnecessary.

Overall, it was a fair experience. Not too many options near the beachside, but this spot worked for a quick,...

I just wondered into this place while exploring Ciijin island. I only popped in for a refreshing drink but ended up having a fabulous meal. The menu is extensive ranging from fish dishes to European and Asian. The berry iced tea was delicious and refreshing. I ate the scallops which were cooked to perfection but strangely came on Ritz crackers. The atmosphere was chilled and service was good with the added bonus of the staff being multi-lingual. The cost...

The fine dining style appetizer with scallops is really tender and soft. Also it serves with freshly baked waffles, and little lime zest. The Taiwanese-Japanese style ramen features fresh seafood…..🫶🏻 P.S. Zero coke tastes like a shit.
