The restaurant opens at 2pm and we arrived around 230. It was already busy but there wasn't a long queue. For our party of 6, we ordered the whole duck (全鴨附餅) and the crispy duck (香酥全鴨), two dishes of vegetables, an egg drop soup, and the blood rice (米血). The regular duck came with one plate of just meat so you can make wraps using their handmade skins. A second plate has the bones, cut up, with still plenty of meat on them. The crispy duck is pounded flat and deep fried at a very high temperature with basil and ginger (also fried and very crispy). None of it was very greasy, which was pleasantly surprising. The egg drop soup was delicious. My 15mo old son drank a whole bowl in no time and my father had 4 bowls. The restaurant has a good amount of seating, small tables for 2-4 people, stools to sit on and no high chairs. You can see all the food being cooked including the ovens for the ducks on the side and the wraps being made right in front. It's a really...

If I could rate this more than 5 stars, I would! This is hands down the best duck I’ve ever eaten. The balance between the fats and the meat is perfect, and the crispy skin adds to the amazing flavor. We also ordered the vegetables and soup, which were equally delicious. Everything was well worth the price.

There are two separate queues for dine-in and takeaway, and while the place gets busy, they serve very fast, so the wait wasn’t too bad. The only downside is that it’s not easy to reach without a car. When I went on a weekday, they were already sold out around 6:30 PM, so it’s best to go early.

Absolutely a must-visit in Kaohsiung, and I’ll definitely be...

Well I just have two questions: -who in their right mind is giving this place less than 5 stars? -how did Michelin fail so hard as to leave this place out?

It’s amazing. Best duck I’ve ever had anywhere by far. It’s worth a special trip.

Practical notes: -we took a cab from Zuoying station which was pretty easy -we went to the 7-eleven next door and asked them to call us a cab for the way back which was also easy -we arrived at 3pm on a Thursday and walked directly in with no wait -there was a long line for takeout so make sure you don’t wait in that if you want to sit down. It can be confusing so ask the employees to make sure you’re not waiting in the...

Long Queue even in weekday, mostly local taiwanese too, famous roasted duck in kaohsiung, price is reasonable for whole duck, they will cut out the meat and the bone part will cook as other dish so you can have two dish with 1 duck/half duck, if possible, you should always order roasted pork as well, i would recommend this two dish , other than that egg soup not necessarily to be order , nothing much to try on the soup. Parking is easy as the restaurant behind have plenty space for parking too.

Following the recommendation of the local people, my family visited this popular Taiwanese style roasted duck restaurant. The duck skin was crispy and the meat was very juicy and flavourful. We also ordered some vegetables and pig-blood cake and they were all delicious. What is the best is that the price is very reasonable and affordable. No wonder it’s very popular.
