IL NETTUNO — Restaurant in Pingtung City

I'm actually sad to be writing this review because: 1. the servers were helpful 2. the cook/chef was kind enough to add extra tomato puree in the pasta as per my request.

Yet... I decided to write this review because I want the owner to see and reflect on this, especially when they boldly placed on each table a written statement that proclaimed the credentials of the chef and the authenticity of the restaurant.

The Caesar salad dressing tasted so store-bought and lacking. When I finished the salad and the server came to take the dish away, she was going to leave the same cutlery for me to use with the pasta, which was about to be served. I had to ask for them to be replaced. What real restaurant does that??? I didn't blame the servers, though. They were trained to work that way. So the one at fault was whoever trained them.

The pasta, for 320 NTD, came with low-grade frozen seafood. The shrimp was the worst in that dish. It was of the same type found in seafood meals sold in convenience stores.

The panna cotta was the worst I've ever had in any Italian restaurant in my life. Tasted like it was made from a cheap store-bought pudding mix. Hard in texture, flavorless, with an aftertaste of vegetable oils.

Definitely a rip-off and a total...

My favorite Italian restaurant, not just in Pingtung, but probably in all of Taiwan. It’s a bit pricey, but the quality of what you get matches what you pay. I’ve never been to Italy, but I imagine this is what the food really...
