Snail — Restaurant in Shilin District

Pros: spaghetti Alfredo and mushroom pizza was tasty and relatively good value. The water (in Evian glass but NOT Evian) was warm and quickly refilled. The plating and food is generally delicious. The food came fast but that maybe because we were the first group at 5:30PM.

Cons: the “spicy crab and shrimp tagliatelle” had very little crabmeat. The “crab risotto with seared shrimps” had even less taste of crab meat. The salad came with way too much dressing, making most leafs dripping wet. The attendants, in an attempt to sound professional and polite I guess, unfortunately come across as cold and distant. We were reminded on the phone and also twice at table that we have only 1.5 hrs. We finished and got out after only 45 minutes so I wish the reminder would not be as frequent and also probably not while we still have so much time to spare. It made us feel quite unwelcome.

A decent restaurant. Atmosphere legit. Service OK. Food is where it gets umm... Ceaser salad, seafood soup, chicken wings are just the way it is! But!!! Here comes the really average main course, Steak, it's a sous vide steak with no flavor, which anyone can do. As for the lamb chop, it is a total waste of money... Strongly suggest better off take it off the menu. The only thing nice about it...Is plating. Since they surely spend a lot on their plates as well. The American italien style restaurent, first time visit and already fall in love with it. Finally had found a American style food that provide good service and good hot food. From the entrance, till the seat, from the food that was serve on table, is all excellent. Except the sea food, wasn’t I was expecting, the freshness is less, the shrimp was ok, other then that their salad was really good. I order a smoke saumon and chicken salad was good. Anyone who ever come around d the area, do recommend you to come take a visit, is worth it. But make sure you called them ahead to make appointment, otherwise will need to wait around 30 minutes...
