VVG Hideaway 好樣秘境 | — Restaurant in Shilin District

Great atmosphere, good food, excellence service. Earning four stars in my review is not easy but this establishment deserves it.

We went on a rare, for Taipei in winter, sunny day in late January. While the restaurant itself is delightful, the nice weather made the entire experience more memorable.

The menu is probably on the pricy side but not overly so considering the experience.

It is off the beaten path and there is no parking near the site. Be prepared to walk a few hundred meters or more from a legal parking spot.

Plan to spend a few hours for this outing given the drive and the enticement to spend the two hours allotted...

A cute, bright, brunch/afternoon tea place, basically a sun room with glass roof, with a two hour limit. There is an outdoor seating area, probably good for spring and fall. Cannot be too picky about the food for the inconvenient location. Prices are quite high for what you get. Salads and pastas were reasonable in quality and flavors. But big disappointment for the mushroom sandwich. Maybe I was thinking portabello mushroom. It came out with a few small mushrooms stuffed in a good sized roll. Definitely bad! ...

This is a popular cafe in up in the hills of Yangmingshan. The place feels a bit surreal because you feel slightly removed from everything else and the decor in it is so modern / rustic at the same time. The building is basically one giant greenhouse so you can see the sky and trees above. The menu has some unqiue drinks. Food is pretty good. But you really come here for the cozy experience and quiet time. When reserve a (window) spot I think they let you have it for an hour or so and you can just kick back and soak in the...
