My Taichung friend introduced me to this place, and we come here every time we want to go shrimping. Funny enough, the shrimp are actually from Thailand, but I never went shrimping when I lived there!

We love this place because the pricing is fair—they add more shrimp every hour—and the male staff are super friendly, always sharing great techniques with us. The food here is also really good, so even if you don’t catch many shrimp, you can still enjoy a meal.

After catching the shrimp, you can grill them yourself. I’ve been here several times, but I still get confused about how to light up the grill. You need to find a lighter and ignite it directly above the grilling area after turning on the gas.

They also serve Taiwanese-style seafood dipping sauce, which is simply soy sauce mixed with wasabi paste—a unique local touch, I’d say.

The place is clean, comfortable for long stays, with good airflow, and even the toilets are well-maintained. We honestly think this is the best shrimping...

300NT per hour and per rod. Within two hours we only caught 7 shrimps. Time goes by really quickly so 2 hours is a good choice. They supply you with everything you need to catch shrimps such as the rod, bait, hooks, nets etc.

You are able to buy Asian Food (whole meals and dishes) but it is quite expensive. Beer is also offered at around 80NT for a quartz size.

Pros - friendly service. Not super busy so there are lots of spots to fish and to cook the shrimps.

Cons - can get quite pricey if you go with a lot of people. Bathrooms are incredibly dirty. Staff not fluent in English.

Another major reason for the average rating is that there were lots of dead shrimps in the pool so that indicates poor water quality or other reasons. The staff was cleaning out trays of dead shrimp at the end of the session.

The fresh shrimp was...

A unique experience to try when visiting Taiwan. The method used to shrimp/prawn fish is unlike other methods used in Western countries. It is quite finesse.

The rates are made aware to you at the counter and you can pay for a set period, and opt to extend when your session is nearing the end. Not many staff spoke English, so Google translate is required.

Every so often, they stock shrimp into the ponds. The bite rate is often but technique is required to reel them in. I lost a fair few and managed 3 in a 2 hour session. Watch the float go under and get dragged around before gently lifting the rod tip to set the hook.

The staff will help you set up the rod and leader length and also show you how to put the bait on.

Definitely a must try if you are into fishing. A bus or taxi is required to...
