The dishes were generally very nice (Where available) but not so the steak which had muscle / tendon running right through which really ruined it for us as we had to hack it out. It was well cooked but very thin and there was almost no sear on it to add flavor. I don't like covering steak in sauce so maybe that was the issue. I wanted the hanger steak but was told it was unavailable.
The ordering process was unnecessarily stressful as the items we wanted were unavailable and no one mentioned this at the beginning so after a while studying the menu and making our choices we had to start again and we then had to change our choices twice more after that to accommodate availability.
Sitting by the kitchen was rather noisy as there was a loud mixer running most of the time which was very annoying when combined with the music. The waiting staff were helpful, but no one asked us if the food was OK at any stage which surprised me.
The combination of the music and listening to the kitchen / waiting staff /mixer interactions right next to us was less than relaxing.
I thought it was expensive overall at 3800 for three without desserts or starters or wine. 380 for the desserts is I think the highest I have seen in Taichung, they looked very nice, but were too much after a meal and tricky if people don't want to have to share. Perhaps smaller options that would be available in less than 20 minutes would have been nice. There was no one at the counter or door as we left, which is generally a good idea to say "goodbye, thanks and do come again" or something to that effect.
I had a similarly priced meal of French style food two nights before somewhere else and really enjoyed it but at that establishment we had starters and desserts included for...

I came for my girlfriend birthday and we had an exceptional night ! I am French and I have to say, this Fusion cuisine of the chef Steven totally amazed me. It has some homey flavors of France and some local ingredients that match perfectly. We first ordered some aperitives, a Caipirinha and an Aperol Spritz. Both were really nice and fresh. We then ordered a bottle of wine, a French Syrah that was perfectly advised by their sommelier and totally matched our food selection. They have an amazing wine list btw. As for the food, we ordered the Creole Bouchons (something I've never tried outside of France!), a Fresh Burrata salad and the Yilan Aged Duck. The bouchons were fantastic, meaty, spicy, juicy, with a wide range of consistencies and flavors throughout the munching. The burrata was extremely fresh, kept its structure while we were cutting it, strong flavour of cheese, and what a surprise to pair it with maqaw pepper ! Risky but lovely ! The aged duck was PERFECT. I am a big duck fan, and the fact that the duck has been aging in the meat aging fridge for 6 days made it extremely tender but kept the skin very crispy . A pleasure for the buds... The perigueux sauce gave it an extra punch and we ordered the homemade roasted potatoes, that were equally as good as the meat.
In addition, the service was great, the place is super trendy, the music selection and the lightning makes you feel that you're in a branché restaurant in New York City, it's ultra modern, cozy and convivial. Looking forward to my...
Read moreVery disappointed with the food.
The plating is very beautiful, but the taste of the food is below average. I was fooled by the reviews on google. Atmosphere very pretty. The staff is ok. The manager (i think) very confident with the food because she ask me why i didn’t finish my food, is it because of full or the food is not my taste, and i said the food is not delicious and i told her the reason and she said that so far there have been no complaints about it. ??? ok.
Let me detailed the food. Spring roll - the flavor is ok. But the skin also a little bit thick. The sauce is ok.
Dumpling - reviews on google said is was delicious and when i eat it, the taste is very disappointing. much worse than street dumpling.
Cream pasta with chicken thighs - the taste of pasta is above average pasta in taiwan. But not worth the price.
Fried rice - the taste is ok. But it’s very oily. The duck very little. The portion is very small compared to the price. Price 520ntd which is not worthy.
French fries - the potatoes are real potatoes. oily but still okay.
Pork chop - very dry, the taste is soso. Nothing to say.
Whisky beef burger - the beef inside very dry. But the bread is also oily. It feels like greasy and dry at the same time. The potato wedges is the best. Good job 👍🏻
Overall, overpriced, the food is not special and i think below average, and manager can't...
