A must visit for mushroom lovers. Hot pot with their mushroom broth was excellent. The price is also fair. A good selection of mushroom and fungi, both as prepared snacks and in dried packages. The location is a bit out of the way. It is reachable by bus from Taichung for about an hour's time. Also, if you like hiking, there are a selection of hiking routes around the area, where you can plan your day depending on your level of fitness. Watch out for stray dogs when going up hiking routes, though, we had to detour after we were chased away by a pack of three dogs. Google Map routes are good enough to navigate the well...

I love coming to this hillside restaurant for the food and the views. It is usually cooler and breezier and has a lovely, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The standard fare is a mushroom, vegetable and thin sliced pork hotpot. This is generously sized and delicious. Deep fried oyster mushrooms are fantastic, as are the sausages. Staff are very friendly and helpful but speak very limited English. The menu is in Chinese with some pictures. Recommended if you feel adventurous or can speak enough Mandarin to get by. This place is called 菇神. We went after visiting a mushroom farm. The restaurant is supposedly famous for some of its food, like hotpot. We didn't order that though. We had some other ala carte orders. The food is not bad. Price is reasonable for restaurants style. Let me tell you, I'm more attracted to their retail outlet just beside the restaurant! They sell all kinds of Mushroom products, quite a variety. N also other items like the Macaw 馬告 biscuit。this a a spice their aboriginal tribe uses. Unique taste. Good to experience.
