Shanghao Charcoal Grill — Restaurant in Xiaoliuqiu

I got opportunity to try a real Taiwanese BBQ "all you can eat" styled restaurant on Liuqiu island.

It is located in side street to Fuxing Rd. It's a little bit hidden but look for the street red sign name, and then you will see in the side street a large covered open space restaurant with yellow-red logo. It's beneficial because fumes from BBQ may easily go away.

The owner will prepare the table with necessary tools, BBQ sauce and hot charcoal. Everything is clean. Even can bring you something extra. Then, just pick up a plate and take fresh ingredients from large fridges, and start grilling your way.

It is offered a wide variety of fresh ingredients ranging from meat (chicken, beef, pork, meat balls,...) to seafood (shrimps, oysters, squid, fishes,...) and side dishes (tofu, onion, cabbage, corn, toast,...). Drink is also included and unlimited.

If you need some help, ask the owner, he is very enthusiastic the local way and care about customers. Even enjoys a toast with you. Cheers.

Very good price ~12 € per person for 2 hours of BBQ. Though we do not speak Chinese, restaurant staff was so kind and used Google Translate to explain everything to us. You get 2 plates per person one for enjoying the cooked dishes and one for transferring the items you wish to BBQ from the efridge to your table. They had so many different things: Vegetarian items like mushroom and baby corn, fish, all kinds of clams , squid, meats. Also included in the price were fried rice and I guess some kind of sugarcane juice. I have a walking disability and I got a small chair while other customers usually sat on a stool. People were very friendly and helpful! There is a parking spot in front where we were able to park the car. If I come back to Liuqiu in the future, I will definetly visit this...

I dine in with my wife tonight. Food is great and exceptionally good value. We loved everything: calamari, shrimps, pork vegie and much more. Oysters are also served there and with no limits as it is all you can eat restaurant 👍Chef is very friendly, he comes to every table to greet his clients and exchange some jokes 😆.
