Minerva's Cafe — Restaurant in Zhanghua City

Oh Changhua how I love you and your style. This cafe kinda sums up the feel of the town. A bit ramshackle but totally lovable. Spent many afternoons at this cafe overlooking busy Sanmin road towards the station. I'm probably biased because I spent my time here falling in love with the girl who's now my wife, so all my memories are tainted a delicious flavour of admiration. There's a single round table upstairs on the balcony and a handful of small tables downstairs as well as a couple out the front. The menu has a lot of options but check what's available. The service can be slow but that's really beside the point, the one guy and his assistant are busy. Anyway, you need time to soak up just how lovely and heart warming Taiwan and particularly Changhua are. If you haven't been up to Baguashan yet, you can work out how to get up there and look around. There's a good selection of beers to choose from though the teas are always a good choice. A bookshelf has some good reads if you're the reading type. I'm vegetarian so can't comment on all the dishes but caesar salads are huge and filling and the cheesy garlic bread is everything it should be. Grab a bit of cake to take away with you, it's worth it. Tasty, easy going and friendly. A local place with character that is there for you on any day out...
