Brake Point Carnivore is one of the best joints to go for a business lunch, a quick beer or even a dinner party with friends in Dar.
The service there is consistently good and the restaurant prides itself in its premium local cuisine that includes staples like ugali (corn meal/pap/posho), ndizi (plantain), wali (rice), chicken, goat, fish, beef all cooked with a strong Swahili coastal influence. I recommend the grilled options. The food is usually fresh and tasty but at premium prices.
The restaurant has a bistro feel with its expansive outdoor sitting, under a big tree shade and there's also indoor sitting if you prefer a little more privacy. Although it's located by a busy road, the foliage and potted plants give it a wall of green that affords patrons comfort away from peering eyes.
