Rainbow Grill Dodoma — Restaurant in Dodoma

We regularly come to this venue when in Dodoma so decided to come as we had a guests who visited us. Of course the place was busy as usual so we decided to sit inside so we could have a chat, drinks and bite. Ordered a few shots and drinks to begin, we decided to order the delicious Mishkaki for All of us, which sadly they were out of stock. Disappointed we asked for menu, meanwhile we had more drinks, senior waiter arrives again for order and wanted to have burger and again same answer "we don't have", he pushed us to have Mbuzi and we didnt want to so as at 8.30 didn't have food yet , waiter suggestions weren't many other to push for more drinks or "take chicken". So lost appetite so my wife and our guest friend ordered the suggested Hf chicken. More drinks pushed and ordered while waited and food arrives. Sadly. 4 tiny, dry as plastic or paper, pieces of chicken which maybe they weren't even 300gr, served in a big plate (badly embarassingly chipped) no decorations, one bowl of chilli sauce. We also ordered one portion each of chips, soggy, lukewarm, half cooked which most of it we left them. 2 of the 3 on chipped plates again (can't you buy some new ones?? It's so bad to serve food like that, even in the street food places they have good one, or get plastic!!). This makes you feel you are dining in a cheap cheap place. My wife asked for kachumbari side, waiter said "we finish it" (not even half tomato ?!?!) Then asked 4 times for salt and lime, and food was already cold. Come on what service is this? We wanted to confirm this to a manager but we didn't bother and senior server saw this and didn't bother t apologize or anything else so middle of meal we asked for bill, paid fully and as very very disappointed guests we left.

I don't generally complain but I love this place for atmosphere, drinks and few items on menu when it's calm or almost empty but it's second time we had issue with food orders and it's very sad because very often we decide to go elsewhere to avoid further disappointment.

Last time we had our baby waiting in car with Dada so we went in, ordered our mishkaki to go and we had drink while waiting. We waited and waited and ordered another'drink, then wondering how long would have taken, we asked and staff forgot to order. No apologies, even managers were going blaming each other, we in the end paid fully all 6 drinks we had because of their fault, careless of all they had to rush the order and food not cooked well so at home we had to finish the cooking and chips... At least 1 drink would have been appreciated if would have been free of charge

It's a beautiful venue, for sure you full every single night but lacks of services, million staff around, more than half (sorry to say) useless and not helpful at all. Customers come to drink and we know that but a touch of service would make lot of more customers happy.

I don't put 0 stars for few obvious reasons and I'll keep continue coming back when time is more appropriate for visit.

Of course is all my opinion this but other of our guests seen this too and if you share such experiences I don't think they would talk nicely about the place.

As a business owner,I never resort to writing reviews knowing the damage it can cause but I will make an exception this time, in my 32 years of living ,this has to be the worst place I have visited. We were a group of 10 people(7 adults and 3 kids) driving from arusha and heading to dar es salaam, we had decided to stop by this pub to have a break ,most importantly my mother can have a meal before she takes her insulin injections. After taking our orders , we waited one good hour for the food to arrive, when it arrived ,the whole order was wrong,the food was cold and when I asked to speak to a manager nobody was there to assist,as if they were all avoiding the situation, we lost an hour waiting for cold food and wrong order,we had left very disappointed,more so because an old diabetic woman waited for food and she got nothing,My order total was supposed to be more then 200,000 but I only paid for the drinks,funny enough there were other people complaining about the same,not sure the owner knows what the staff are doing or how the place is being run but save your money and time , if I could give 0 stars I would aswel ,the ambience and setting are nice,customer care is pathetic , no leadership,no one willing to solve problems, blaming each other and I really can’t comment on the food enough,worst place I had gone rob,this is not a personal vendetta,these are just my opinions since there was no one willing to take responsibility and...

Love the local chicken with ginger dish they saved us but it tooks forever to be done (single chef, a lots of orders), the café got all wrong with a temperature control, the café shop wasn't cosy with adequate heating they time i was there. didn't like the cappuccino or other coffee products (it's called café you need to make good coffee products). they multiple TV for watching football both café and pub.
