Chichi Local Restaurant Zanzibar — Restaurant in Unguja

Hands down this was the BEST meal we had in Zanzibar (it's not our first Time in the country and we had SO many fantastic meal expereinces to choose from).What a great surprise! Authentic food, welcoming host, cheap prices, in a pleasant atmosphere on the beach. Fish market takes place a few meters away from the restaurant, right on the beach, which tells you a lot about the freshness of seafood : everything is super fresh ! All is perfect for 4 and it was honestly the most delicious and fresh food we could've asked for : Lobster, mixed seafood platter, an authentic okra dish and the best Octopus rice Curry ive ever tasted. Perfectly paired with a couple of chilled Kilis or Safari beers with lime. Sitting here, weeks later writing this review, my mouth is literally watering thinking about it. An Exceptional Place!

My partner and I were only able to eat here twice due to time constraints, but what a discovery! We tried the samosas and the lobster (approximately €11): it was absolutely DELICIOUS, and the prices are more than reasonable!

The lobster, already excellent on its own, was served with rice (or fries, if you prefer) and vegetables, all drizzled with a sauce that we absolutely loved.

With authentic local dishes, beautiful tablecloths, and a stunning view of the sea, what more could you ask for?

We truly wish we could have eaten here more often to try out more dishes.

Best restaurant far away. First time when we were here we tonight it’s closed because the roof was down and everywhere was building material. But we have it a chance and we was very very surprised. Since than we came every evening for a dinner. The food is tasty and fresh. Fresh fish, fresh octopus fresh LOBSTER and fresh prawns. Everything was prepared with love and the stuff wich was actually owner and his children were very polite and nice. Prices are 3-4times lower than prices in our hotel.
