What a terrible location and food!! Ok, you read reviews and try to experience this GEM!!! in Matemwe/ North east of Zanzibar. ARE YOU KIDDING ME GUYS??? this so called "local restaurant" is located just beside a school at middle of the way, so please accept to enjoy passing a cow and leave fresh cowpat beside where you seat! There is no where to wash your hands before and after meal, so please spare some of your "free" bottle of water to go out infront of entrance and use it to wash your hands. Let me leave it to you to see the photos for the food, don't want to make you borded!!! Reading some other fellaws reviews, it's amazing that so many millionaires visiting this place. Decent price??? $35 for a sea-food plate that even a 5 year old kid can finish it in 2mins. The food is very tasty and well seasoned, it also costs less than the food available at the hotels nearby which in my opinion were quite average. Food is super fresh, usually fish / seafood caught nearby. You can order via WhatsApp as service can take a while and if you want something special, you can tell them with some time in advance and they will accommodate - we pre-ordered a whole fried fish once and it was delicious. Service is great, always with a smile on the face! We really enjoyed going to the restaurant, having a great meal and looking at the kids nearby playing - such a calm and...

The Swahili curry is amazing, we could eat that all the time. The rice is boiled in coconut water, excellent. The chef and Simba were very nice people, it was good talking to them and get to know more about the life in Zanzibar. We also played Boa -while waiting for the food to be served- it was a really nice local experience. It is a bit hard to find the restaurant as you have to walk a bit off the beach, and enter into Matemwe village, but the Simba brothers will show how to get there. The prices are much more attractive than what you pay in all front...
