The perfect location for a last meal before heading to airport!

After two weeks driving all over Zanzibar eating in many different lodges and restaurants my husband and I wanted to have one last beach-front lunch before our flight back to the UK.

Looking on Google for restaurants within 30 mins of the airport we decided to eat here and we were so glad that we did! It was the perfect 'last meal' - absolutely delicious and fresh and served by such charming waitresses who went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful meal and were really looked after. We were also given complimentary cassava chips and filtered water as soon as we sat down 💖

Thank you Joyce and your waitresses Esther, Happy and Flora for helping us to end our holiday on a high and I would really recommend Membe Kayak Club Restaurant...

This is quickly becoming one of my favourite spots in Zanzibar. The first time we visited we called ahead and asked to do kayaking. I was expecting just to paddle around in front of the restaurant so imagine our delight when the owner himself took us on a whole adventure around a nearby island and down the coast. Amazing experience!

The food is absolutely delicious- lots of homemade things like the spiced hibiscus soda. The seafood kisinia was the highlight. Fresh seafood, cooked to perfection. It’s advertised for 2 people but the portion is extremely generous. The others in our group had the breakfast and also loved it.

After visiting a couple of times I can say it’s a consistently great family-run restaurant. You will feel at home there. Definitely...

We decided to drive to Fumba from Stone Town, and the first beach we found (at the end of the main road) was more like a rubbish dump! So we drove west about 1km and found a tourist area with a couple of shops and boat trips to a nearby island.

So we drove a further km and turned left down an unmade more and, by chance, found this place. But what a find! We arrived at about 11.30 and decided to have a drink before exploring the beach. An incredibly friendly owner made us so welcome that after our swim, we stayed for lunch.

He allowed us to use the showers to change and was very sociable throughout our whole visit. Would...

We were staying at Fumba Beach Lodge and decided to try Membe Kayak Club Restaurant – what an absolute gem! The seafood platter completely blew us away – fresh, flavourful, and so generous that it easily became the highlight of our trip. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel right at home. The restaurant itself was spotless, with a relaxed atmosphere that paired perfectly with the setting. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. We honestly couldn’t recommend this place more – a must-visit if you’re in the area!
