During our walk one evening we stumbled upon this small fine dining restaurant. We walked upstairs to just view the menu and maybe have a drink. The menu was quite convincing so we agreed to return back the next evening ( the first evening we decided to stay and have a drink as it started pouring!). The next day we returned having failed to find decent restaurants serving vegetarian options. This place has quite a few to offer. The ambience is welcoming, friendly. The staff are great, they remembered us from the night before. They are very attentive and unobtrusive. The mocktails were nicely prepared and decorated, very tasty. The starters were absolutely amazing, a mix of local and international ingredients well blended, and so yummy! The presentation wowed us too! The main dish was a butternut with lentils, delicious! For dessert we decided to go for a light version and we were stunned as well, not too heavy, as sweet as we like it! Let yourself be surprised with the flavors!! The prices are very affordable and the quantity is good. An absolute gem in the middle of stone town, and a...

I am actually still sitting at the restaurant while writing this review... i mean just wow! We've been in Zanzibar for the last 6 days and every day we try to eat at a different place, we've had some nice experiences, but always felt something lack, ie. Great cocktails but okay food, or good food but okay service etc etc. BUT then we found this gem of a place! 1. Beautiful setting! 2. Friendly and kind staff. 3. So clean and neat and the tables/chairs are beautiful. So we ordered drinks=delicious the food= spectacular!! Honestly everything was perfect! Please give this place a try when nearby! And to the restaurant, chef, waiters everyone THANK YOU! What a...

A lovely fine dining experience in Matemwe! Unlike Nungwi, Matemwe is a lot quieter, a lot slower. The kind of place you go in Zanzibar if you want as much of the pure beach experience as possible. Along that strip of white sand and clear waters is Mzee Husa. The food is amazing but so is the whole experience. Everyone is very kind and friendly. The ambiance is lovely but also inviting. The only complaint is that when it gets busy, the speed of service slows down but that’s only if you’re nitpicking. A great place to get...
