Zanzibar Airport Cafe — Restaurant in Unguja

We came here expecting a decent meal but we were sorely disappointed.

We ordered the seafood soup, the cheese burger, and tuna sandwiches.

We were the only ones in the restaurant but it took nearly 1 hour for this simple food to come out. We repeatedly reminded the staff that we had a plane to catch, to no avail. When the food finally came, The burger patty had very little meat in it and it was refrigerator cold. It was full of vegetables and flour and other ingredients and tasted disgusting. The tuna sandwiches tasted disgusting, plane white bread with barely any tuna meat on the bread. It was pathetic. We complained but no attempt was made to resolve the issues. We left the food on the table uneaten and attempted to pay. I intended to use my credit card to pay but they attempted to rip me off by charging me in US DOLLARS INSTEAD OF local currency and using an unfair exchange rate. Prawn pasta ordered today as a late lunch at 2:30pm... ('pepper steak' was sold out) And here's my feedback: Food was quite Ok, i finished my entire plate, so this is a good sign :) The waiter was very kind. There were not many people, but i noticed airport/airline staff eating there which is also a good sign.
