Zenzero Restaurant — Restaurant in Unguja

From the first time that I've been in this place I've loved it and now I've been already several times. The staff is very friendly and professional, the food is tasty and delicious, and the location is just fantastic! They have lots of Italian dishes (the owner is italian) but not only. I love the piadina and my girlfriend always try different pasta and love them all. There are so many tasty things that sure everybody will find a new favorite dish. The service is fast and impeccable, and it's also nice to spend some time looking the sea before and after the food. They have very good cocktails and cold beers and even a cocktail happy hour from 17h to 19h, I advice the Dawa, very good local cocktail!

We visited this place several times. The cocktails were very good, and the “buy one, get one free” happy hour between 17:30–18:30 was a great deal. Nice selection, fair prices, and the bruschetta was delicious. However, there were some disappointments. The pizza was not really a pizza — more like a chapati folded with very little topping, nothing close to what I’d call pizza. The seafood pasta unfortunately had more of a swampy taste than fresh seafood flavor. Also, when paying by card, the 5% card usage fee is charged to the customer, which is not ideal. Simply Fantastic restaurant! Elizabeth is fantastic.... sweetest waitress ever! Carbonara di Mare is special...and so the piadinas, the tuna skewers! The bread is among best bread ever tried! The owner Gabriele is Italian and is an incredible human being! We stayed few extra hours after dinner because you can talk with about anything...his knowledge is excellent beside being kind, warm and hospitable! we stayed 7 days and we ate there or eith their deliveries 6 days out of 7.
