Fukujin Izakaya – Lampang

A cozy Japanese izakaya with authentic counter seating that makes you feel like dining in Japan.

Here’s what I tried:

Tofu Salad – refreshing and light, with a tangy Japanese-style dressing.

Spicy Scallop Salad – a unique Thai twist, full of flavor with spicy, sour, salty, and sweet notes, even with bird’s eye chili.

Beef & Tofu Stew – hearty and comforting, the broth is rich and perfect to sip on.

Grilled Beef Tongue – the highlight of the meal. Tender, flavorful, and excellent when paired with wasabi and soy-marinated egg yolk.

Matcha Pudding – a lovely dessert to finish, served with whipped cream and sweet red beans.

Overall, great food and atmosphere. If you’re in Lampang and looking for a Japanese spot to chill and enjoy good dishes, this place is highly recommended.

I wish we had more time in Lampang to come back and try more of the menu. The prices were very reasonable, the interior aesthetic gave the place a more authentic feel and good vibe, the quality of the food was high, and I couldn’t not mention the steak, which was cooked perfectly.
