We went to celebrate, purchased in advance the deal which offered a great selection of dishes for a great price.
We ordered a bottle of white wine and the staff left it on the table, when I asked is there no ice bucket for white wine the response I got was “yes we have it, do you want one?” And this was quite shocking for me as the restaurant offers a fine selection of wine, but the service that accompanied the wine was different.
The first time I came to eat here it was for a dinner, this time a lunch, and I remembered they offered a very nice bread basket a long with their oil and balsamic. This time only the oil and balsamic came and I asked if there was any bread, the answer was “no only sometimes”
Then the food started to come and we got excited, the starters came and then the hot risotto came at the same time instead of coming with the other main dishes. I understand that risotto can also be a starter, but according to the set menu it was not part of the starters. This was upsetting because the process of the meal should have been understood by the staff, cold starters come together then once finished with the first course, the hot meals come following.
Even with these service hiccups, the restaurant is still a favorite and we may stick to...
Read moreTucked away in a street with not much else, we decided to try this place with good reviews.
Food: Unfortunately, the aglio olio AOP prawns I ordered with less spice was very spicy (and I am asian, I can handle a decent level of spice). After sending it back, it still was too spicy--they removed the fresh chilli and still added chilli oil. Anyone would know the spiciness in chilli sits in the oils, not the fresh ingredient! The carpaccio and porchetta was tasty great but small serving with a fatty slice of pork. Gelato is not good and fruits wasn't the usual fruits that you have on gelato-- it had oranges and grapes instead.
Value: Be made aware that they charge service charges and 3% if you pay using credit card. They also wanted to charge THB160 for 3 pieces of bread as the starter which we didn't order (but it was proactively cancelled out)
Service: decent and attentive thank you. But the policies and prices kind of spoiled the experience. Strangely we sat outdoor and they decided to blast the fan on full so we had a windy time; no issue here but...
Read moreHad dinner here a few times. The first time was great, however I was disappointed at the last time. The pork chop wasn’t properly cooked (raw near the bone) which we only realized after eating 3/4 part of it. I was not happy but mistakes can happen I get it, so I pointed it out to the waiter. I didn’t expect much but they decided to give us a free Tirsamisu. Every seems good until the owner/manager said that the meat could’ve been ok if we have told them to recook it from the start not telling them after we (almost) finish it.
He made it sound like we are just finding faults and making it a big deal (which we didn’t). I only found out the inner meat was raw later on because the outside part of pork chop was cooked. I gently and calmly pointed it out to the waiter, I didn’t even make a fuss to let everyone know about it. I appreciate the Tiramisu freebie, but the pork chop which costs way more was fully charged.
Gave 2 stars for Tuna Tar Tar and Tiramisu. If the mindset of the manager is better then I would’ve given a 4 stars and...
