เปียอู๋ บางนา ร้านอาหารจีนในตำนาน เปิดมาตั้งแต่ปี 2492 (76 ปี!) วันนี้ได้มีโอกาสมาทานที่ร้านจริงครั้งแรก หลังเคยสั่งเดลิเวอรี่มาชิมช่วงโควิด

ร้านใหม่อยู่ในซอย ถัดจากที่ตั้งเดิม บรรยากาศดี สไตล์สวนอาหาร มีทั้งโซนแอร์และโซนรับลมธรรมชาติ สะอาดน่านั่ง ห้องน้ำสะอาด ที่จอดรถสะดวก มีพนักงานโบกรถ แถมวันฝนตกยังมีร่มบริการให้ลูกค้าอีกด้วย

อาหารเร็วเกินคาด ทั้งที่แจ้งว่าจะช้า 20–30 นาที แต่มาภายใน 10 นาที! แนะนำเมนู: ปลากะพงนึ่งพริกมะนาว: รสจัดจ้าน เปรี้ยว เผ็ด เค็ม หวานครบรส เป็ดพะโล้: เนื้อนุ่ม น้ำพะโล้หอมเข้มข้น กระเพาะปลาน้ำแดง: เสิร์ฟหม้อร้อน ซดคล่องคอ ผัดบรอกโคลีกุ้ง: ผักสด กุ้งเด้ง รสกลมกล่อม ยำกุ้งฟู: กรอบ มันนิดๆ แต่ตัดเลี่ยนด้วยน้ำยำและกะหล่ำปลีดิบได้ดี

Pia Oo Bangna – A legendary Chinese restaurant that’s been around since 1949 (76 years!).

I finally got the chance to dine in after having tried delivery during the COVID period.

The new location is a bit further into the alley from where it used to be. The atmosphere is great — styled like a garden restaurant with both air-conditioned and open-air seating. The place is clean and inviting, and even the restrooms are spotless. Parking is convenient with staff helping direct traffic, and on rainy days, they even offer umbrellas to customers — impressive service even before stepping into the restaurant!

Surprisingly, food came much faster than expected. Although staff said there might be a 20–30 minute wait, dishes started arriving within 10 minutes!

Recommended dishes: Steamed Sea Bass with Chili and Lime: Bold, tangy, spicy, savory, and sweet — perfectly balanced. Braised Duck in Five-Spice Broth: Tender meat, flavorful and aromatic broth — classic Chinese home-style flavor. Fish Maw Soup in Red Gravy: Served bubbling hot in a clay pot with a flame, rich and comforting. Stir-fried Broccoli with Shrimp: Crisp veggies, plump shrimp, well-seasoned. Crispy Shrimp Salad: Slightly greasy as expected, but balanced well with raw cabbage and spicy dressing. Downside: Service staff was clearly not enough for the busy crowd. Took multiple attempts to call staff for food follow-ups and to ask for the bill. Front-of-house could use more hands to match the kitchen's speed.

This was our second time here. Both times we ordered fried fish and both times after waiting for over 30 mins - we’ve been told the fish is sold out. The second time at 6:30 pm - peak dinner time. We could of course order something else but that’s going to take another 30-45 minutes to get served.

Food tastes delicious and that’s about it. I’m not driving my family ever over here because it’s going to be a disappointment one way or the other.

I mean which restaurants sells food on a weekend where it runs out during peak dinner time.

Also many people came after us and got their food served before us. Maybe if you know the owners you get special service and food faster...

Great local Thai restaurant on the water. I've been going here for more than 3 years. It's my local! Great food at a very affordable price, and well priced cold beer. Despite being on the water, there are very few mosquitos and I've never had a problem with them. The service is fantastic and the staff are very attentive. Good atmosphere with mostly Thai families and workers having a bite and beer after work. I recommend the chicken cashew dish, the crumbed shrimp, and the satay kebabs. The chicken coconut soup and Tom Yum are also amazing.

I've heard this restaurant is moving locations further down the road on the right, behind magnolias (next to where I live with is even better!). This new location has lots of parking and it's much quieter. Looking...
