Not my favourite branch when it comes to service quality. Was about to pay, noticed the discount and asked about it. The staff member was unsure. Then she seemed to be doing something on a different device and we were talking about the discount and I told her that the amount is indeed over 200 Baht. She nodded in a way as if, yes, you're right - it qualifies. (Because 200 is what's written on the poster.) She proceeds to swipe it and I'm charged the normal amount. Why else would you even nod unless you think I'm making some weird conversation about the price of the dessert?
It turns out that what we ordered is not eligible for the discount anyway, and that's fine. I'm happy to pay full price. The issue I had is, why is she nodding as if acknowledging it meets the terms for the discount and then charging full price? She could have still said, yes it looks like it should qualify but [...]. And that's fine, or even ask someone familiar if she had indeed not been looking at the discount options during that time and still had no idea how to do it, not just take the card and charge full price. I get that initially, she did not know and she said she didn't, but it's about the acknowledgement in the form of the nodding.
