Baan Klang Nam 1 — Restaurant in Bang Khlo Subdistrict

This place is among my favorite Thai restaurants in town. Not only I like the fact it is on the Chao Phraya River but i like that it is an old house with large terraces. You get there through a small street and it gives it this touch of discovery. The food is excellent. Went there several times and never was disappointed. The food is meant to be shared so be ready for big quantities. So is the beer. We had a wonderful dinner at Baan Klang Nam. This nice riverside restaurant is located next to the Chao Phraya River. The ambiance was amazing and you can get a great view of the river at night. This restaurant serves a great selection of Thai and Chinese fusion dishes. We ordered Steamed Crab Curry, Stir Fry Morning Glory with Garlic, Papaya Salad with Salted Crab, Scallops, Deep Fried Minced Prawns & Crab Meat Rolls, Fried Fish, Spicy Prawns, Sticky Rice with Mango. We went for dinner as a group of 12 yesterday. The atmosphere is great for taking our foreign friends to dine but that’s about it. As a Thai, I think the food wasn’t that great in term of both taste and freshness.

Service was fast but made quite a few mistakes that shouldn’t have happened. The waitress that looked after us was kinda lack of common sense. She put a very hot pot in front of of 2 year old toddler. No bowl came with Tom yum soup, we had to ask for them twice. Only one menu was given to us when we were a big group.
