WARNING: be prepared to travel far from Bangkok city to this cafe. BUT I can tell you everything is worth it. I did have my struggles initially and I can say I didn't regret my choice, because I tasted one of the best croissants here! Right here! The taxi journey was close to an hour, because the driver lost his way a bit at the end by not going up and down the expressway to the exit and too the U turn route. The moment you enter into the cafe you can smell the aroma of the croissants, and you look at the display and you feel like you want to try everything. Of course I had my preference but I asked the cashier to recommend me the popular/signatures and they were always not my choice. Nevertheless I decided to go along with their recommendations. I can only say it was good, so good. The Macadamia caramel one was very good but I think the main factor was not the flavours but was the croissant itself. Price for this piece is not cheap though its 235 Baht! I also decided to try a chocolate Amman (which the shape looks weird because I never seen Amman which looks like this). Nevermind the shape it tasted awesome as well. All went along well with a Berry tea. Not sure if there is a branch in Silom, seems to have a listing in Google as well. The irony was that I read it somewhere it opens at 930am but the mall itself opens at 1030. I reached the Silom Complex at 930 and could not enter and left. And I also read it that they only have 1 shop and no other branches. Not sure about the 2 reviews on the...

Probably Thailand’s most famous and popular bakery (or Boulangerie if you are French!) running by an Iron Chef Thailand Winner, Thai pastry chef, Chef James. Aside from being young, accomplished, and highly-awarded TV chef, Chef James also teaches at the world’s famous French culinary school Cordon Bleu Bangkok, giving him not only accredited backings but also some celebrity status. Hence why his stand-alone shop—despite it being a little far on the outer-skirt of Bangkok on the Eastern side—extremely popular. One can expect to find long cues to get into the cafe to sample the many interesting and creative creations of Chef James’, some times, up to several hours. There is even a drive-through pick-up (still with cues) if you do not want to spend a long-time waiting to be seated.

The basic offerings of French classic pastries are there and definitely worth it to sample. From the buttery smooth, and flaky crusted plain croissants to more fancy toppings/fillings of macadamia nuts, tiramisu, chocolates and the likes, definitely you won’t be disappointed. The prices are on the up-scaled side too (as expected). Plain croissants are almost US$3/each, and double that or more for the more exotic varieties. Still, if you are looking for a nice, high-quality French pastry to enjoy in Bangkok, James Boulangerie is highly...

Although there is a location now at ICONSiam it is out on Ratchaphruek Road that Chef Pachara Thakerngkiat made his name, training at Le Cordon Blue and success on Iron Chef making Croissants so sought-after that lines aren’t uncommon and nor are sell-outs by noon.

Opened January before the pandemic, a difficult time since forgotten in the wake of success, it is upon entry that guests are offered seating in a sizable space with table service that is both charming and efficient.

A quiet place good for small-talk or telecommuting, with a menu that moves fluidly from sweet to savory, it is with Coffee that most partake in Viennoiserie including plain and filled Croissants such as Raspberry Paradiso or a black version featuring Matcha Cream.

Also offering Croffles, or laminated Dough pressed in an iron beneath assorted toppings, James’ newest addition features a hemisected Croissant of choice with its honeycomb interior filled by Soft Serve and toppings including...

I almost liked the place until we had the pulpy orange americano that tasted horrible 😖. Not sure what’s wrong my but it tasted like burnt tire in lemon juice. We told the staff that I didn’t like it and if it’s possible to change to the same or lower priced coffee. They simply said no and didn’t even accept our request to cancel the order. We had to pay the VAT and service charge on top of the most terrible coffee we had. They gave the reason that it’s not their fault that I didn’t like it. We spent more than 2,000 baht and we’re treated like nothing. This won’t happen in other professional cafe. Talking about croissants. They are absolutely overrated and over priced. Menu with salmon came so small. Croissants almost had only flakes. They were soooo small. You only get a few pieces of side dishes like fries and fruits. So ridiculous. All tasted AVERAGE. Coffee sucks. Save your money to spend somewhere else that’s customer oriented. Avoid if possible.
