Bamboo Bar — Restaurant in Buri Ram Province

Went for drinks one evening and was disappointed. It appeared the waitress was making the drinks and not a dedicated bar person. The margarita was disappointing and Singapore Sling had me too scared to ask what was in it besides a few spoonfuls of undisolved sugar and what I suspect was a grenadine substitute, and some lime juice. I don't think it even had any alcohol in it. I finally settled for a beer and it was just fine. A local band playing 70s type music was ok and not intrusively loud if you are wanting a conversation. The place is perfectly located and again it looks like the owners have become complacent and don't put too much effort into running the place. The place has a lot of potential. Long standing Buriram bar and restaurant with decent Thai and western food options and a large cocktail menu (they have the usual beer choices of Heineken, Chang, Leo, and Singha). Popular with expats, this is a good place to grab a burger and a cold, light beer in a relaxing environment. The thing that makes this place really stand out though is the live music. We visited this place by chance as the English restaurant we had been recommended was closed on that night. The bamboo bar has been open for 20years and is a popular meeting place for the local expat community. As the name suggests, it's mode of decor is bamboo. A very comfortable place to sit and relax and enjoy just a drunk or a meal from the extensive menu. The food was of good quality, being a mixture of Thai and European dishes.
