Wow, what an experience! This is not your usual big restaurant, it's the most personal dining experience ever: just one table! And we can watch the chef Marco prepare the food... Marco is a true Roman, very proud of his culture and food, and he makes just the most delicious food. First we had lightly fried zucchini flowers, what a treat! And then cold cuts and cheese for appetizers, excuse me, I meant to say San Daniele ham, a salami from nearby Rome, two different kinds of Pecorino, one with a delicate jam and one with queen bee honey... a little salad with the most delicious homegrown tomatoes and arugula. Next, a lasagna... not just an ordinary lasagna but the most delicious one I have ever had. It was also much lighter than what I had eaten elsewhere which was great as the main course was still coming: beef filet filled with Parmigiano and Parma ham, roasted in the oven. So tasty! Also the red wine reduction sauce... Desert was a deliciously light Tiramisu, coffee and grappa. We also had some excellent red wines from Marco's small but fine cellar. Besides the outstanding food, the atmosphere was also very special. It's like family, and chatting with the chef Marco and his wife was great fun, and we learned a lot about Italian cuisine...
