Chiang Dao Resto — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

We went for a bit of a motorcycle tour out to Chiang Dao today, so after a few hours riding we pulled into this lovely modern roadside coffee shop & restaurant. The staff were very friendly & showed us to a table that was in an alfresco dining area that looked across lush green fields that rose to the foot hills of Doi Chiang Dao, truly a beautiful setting. The menu is very Thai & very well executed & presented. The soft shell crab som tum was sensational as was the spicy raw salmon salad. All up we had 7 courses & everything we had was excellent. Now for the most interesting part, the deserts, Belgian waffle, Tiramisu and a very tasty cheese cake that was on a sponge base & dusted with desiccated coconut. Brilliant! Chiang Dao Resto is a great place to stop if your passing through or if your spending a few days in the district. Good Thai food with outstanding views of Doi Luang (Doi Chang Dao). Ate here during rainy season during COVID-19 in a rural location and I was understandably the only person dining. Surprisingly everything on the menu was available and the food was delicious and fresh. The one person on staff was appreciative of my presence and professionally delivered great service. Very tasty foods, nice view and friendly staffs - perfect combination. This restaurant is relatively new but the owner has been in the business for years. The restaurant has a very nice view. Staffs are very friendly, they invited us to go to 2nd floor for even better view of the mountains. There is also a room full of very old newspaper pages - very nice collection.
