Ombra The Garden — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

We came on a Sunday for lunch. It was empty except for a small film crew and a few bicycle riders taking a break. This restaurant is not recommended for these reasons:

45 mins after we ordered, two of the four dishes we ordered finally came. These were only simple dishes. The waitress told us at that time that they don’t have the ingredients for the other dishes. But somehow they found them because 10 mins later our other dishes came. The food tasted okay.

The atmosphere is not nice like the pics we originally saw that attracted us there. We would not have come had we known what the restaurant really looks like.

We came for a great atmosphere and timely service. This time was not the case for either.

A really awesome and cosy escape from the city. The setup is varied from inside seating to outside tall tables to just some camping seats by the water. Good drinks and food, including cakes, and seems like a popular spot for alcohol hangouts as well. They're open late, though you'll need some mosquito spray to stay near the water...

Just up the road from me but did not know of its existence as it is down a narrow alley between two commercial premises. Absolutely outstanding in its presentation. Quirky but tasteful decor in a beautiful bush setting alongside a lovely creek.
