Sala Cafe — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

The shop is in a countryside road, greeny natural environment and quiet place. There are plenty of choices, you can order ala carte (thai food dishes), western food (spaghetti, chicken chop, etc). Fruit juice, coffee and tea are available here too. They also serve desert. For food, i ordered thai dishes ala carte, the taste is nice! I would recommend thai food rather than Western, as i think we should have local food here. Besides that, i also ordered desert, for me it is very sweet (typical thai sweet, haha). The environment is good, greeny and immerged in natural. Overall, the cafe is good to visit if you're on the way...

Really disappointed! Was here a year ago and food was ok and ambient was great. Im back here again this year for holiday and brought 2 guests along and one birthday guy. But I was embarrassed by the food served. Ordered a duck with rice and found the inner meat was cold. Then came in another pork ribs, guess what.. meat was icy cold in the inside as well! and has a strange taste. Lady Boss came over and told me that no customers have complain before. Food that is not serve hot or warm is unacceptable, but served with icy cold in the inside is just not right. Apologized to my guests after lunch and left, will not...

This trip to Mae Rim we decided to divert from our usual hotels and restaurants and explore other spots in the area.

First stop is Sala Cafe . Really cosy spot with lots of different seating areas to suit your mood of the day. We sat facing the garden and water feature.

Garden is quite large and has some areas for outdoor dining too.

We had a clear fish tom yum A bit salty for us but it was loaded with mushrooms 😋

Panaeng pork curry. This was just ok for us. Too large strips of limau purut / makrut leaves made the dish a bit chewy.
