Tha Chang Hill — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

Very reasonable prices for air conditioned comfort and great views "Thachang Hill Coffee and Cafe" is an excellent place to stop if you're doing the 'Samoeng Loop', or simply on that stretch of road.

Reasonably priced meals and drinks with a good choice of seating: in an air-conditioned room with picture windows, on the decking next to the bar, or on an expansive balcony with great views.

Our meals were tasty but the meat content was in short supply and appeared skimpy; shame about that, it reflected badly on the meal.

Serving staff were adequate, but almost nervous in their persona. Perhaps they were simply new staff?

Truly a great place to be for good coffee and food. Cyclists can really enjoy this section of beautiful forested mountain paved road climbing hills and winding curves and a stop over for a rest at Tha Chang coffee house and its awesome large balcony overlooking wonderful mountains. Go up further safely or come back down the mountains with good speed is so much pleasurable, thanks. Ample bike parking spaces and stands are perfectly provided and very well arranged. People who run the place are very kind and friendly. Nice atmosphere of a real cycling club. Open quite early in the morning which is one great thing to be there for a real good cup or more!! We stopped at this place coming back to Chiang Mai Town from one of our road trips. My partner and her sister ordered Thai Dishes Pad Thai and Pad Kra Pao and I ordered the Sirloin beef steak. The meals were all very nice here. And the restaurant itself had a nice view over the valley. Only negative they did not ask how I wanted my steak cooked as I like to go a medium well done if they ask. And it was medium rare. I would recommend they ask this question to customers in future.
