Tuang Thong Canyon View Restaurant — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

A group of us (9 golfers) were in Chiangmai recently (12th-18th January 2025).

The weather was excellent; clear cloudy skies with temp ranging from 16-27 deg… was slightly chilly at times!

A friend recommended us to try this restaurant, situated SW of our hotel (Dusit Princess Chiangmai) about 27 mins drive. Do made a reservation, so that Andy can give you an unforgettable experience.

We were greeted by Andy and his wife. Andy is also a Singaporean and has lived there for many years.

The restaurant served very reasonably priced with a range of many authentic thai cuisine. We left Andy to recommend us on the menu… and my gosh, we were impressed! We could taste the freshness of the seafood and everything was simply delicious!

Great food, good host with the most amazing view of the canyon.

So much so that we went there for another meal before leaving for home.

Lovely vast open view of Grand Canyon. With the sun setting behind the woods.. Food was really great and good standard.. we had Chicken Fried Rice, Green Curry pork, Tom Yum chicken, black pepper soft shell crab, kale w Salted fish, green tea w ice, TMT hot, lemon juice. Pictures don't do justice to the food nor the place. Better photos in my proper camera... We met the owners, entertaining their own guests. Very humble owners and the lady owner brought our kids to pet her chickens and collected the eggs fr the chook, and blessed each of our kid an egg each.. haha.. Lovely simple play area over looking the canyon. Great to entertain the children while waiting for food to arrive. It didn't take too long.. we were 2 of 3 groups...

Great little place in a lovely rural setting. Had a great lunch from an interesting and varied menu, all very reasonably priced. Service and presentation was excellent and food very tasty Must try dinner here Thank you !

Update : I visited Canyon View again on 20th July 2024 with my wife for dinner.

The premises is now under new management but we were delighted to find the food, the service and the ambience are as good as before.

The restaurant has undergone some renovations but happy to find they still have the same cooks and staff delivery top quality food at a very reasonable price.

Definitely worth a visit. You will not be...
