Stunning Seaside Ambience – But a Disappointing Ending

The restaurant truly impresses at first glance with its breathtaking setting right by the sea. You can choose to sit directly at the water's edge or a bit higher up with a beautiful panoramic view – both options are equally charming, especially at sunset. There was live music as well, which started out a bit too loud but was later adjusted to a more comfortable level, adding a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere.

The staff were extremely polite and friendly, always attentive without being intrusive. Some of the dishes were absolutely delicious, especially the sides and vegetables. Unfortunately, the fish tasted noticeably old, which is quite disappointing for a restaurant located right by the sea.

What really ruined the end of an otherwise lovely evening was the experience during payment: The owner personally asked me three times to leave a tip, even though I had politely declined the first time. This felt very pushy and inappropriate – and it’s hard to imagine that Thai guests are treated the same way. As other reviewers have mentioned, this seems to be a pattern targeted specifically at Western tourists - even I am living long term in Thailand - and I found it quite rude.

This left a bad final impression and is a real shame, considering the otherwise wonderful setting. If the management addressed this issue, the place could be...

Work colleague took a group of us here for dinner and what a nice place to enjoy great food, music, wine and sunset along the beautiful beach. The restaurant is situated near the beach Walk area and is really huge! There is a beautiful swing area right along the shore and tables too. There is no railing along the beachside tables so you can walk out to the beach/rocks to put your feet into the crystal clear water or take a instagram worthy pic. All the food items we ordered were really good. The fried squid was fresh and not chewy and the fried fish was really crispy, the fried papaya salad was very good (not sure the name) and the steamed crab legs was a crowd favorite. If you are looking for wine to go with your meal be patient because the selection is very limited. For beers they only have Budweiser (on tap) but I think it’s the Thai version so a bit nicer than the US one. There was live music as well, from around 7:30pm but I’m not sure if this is every night or not. The music was very suited for the atmosphere/ location and while I couldn’t understand the singers they sounded good. This is definitely a great place to go for dinner and I would highly recommend it. The view is just amazing and combine that with good food & music and you are nearly in paradise (except...

Chariot Pub and Restaurant is a great seafront location overlooking the bay. The atmosphere is more of a restaurant than a pub. During the windy high tides, the sitting tables near the waterfront may attract some fresh seawater spray to cool your senses. Nice romantic location in the evening, but in my view definitely needs renovations for aesthetic looks to the lighting. Contains an expansive dining area offering a large selection of Thai food and a selected range of beverages, including beers, spirits, and wine. The food and the portions are just okay. Overall the service is okay; nevertheless, the server forgot to bring some of my items and had to be reminded. I’m unaware on weekdays, but on weekends it’s crowded, and the live music (Thai hits) entertains the patrons' requests—a nice place to chill out with family and friends. There are few other restaurants in the...
