MongChang Cafe is a hidden gem located about 20 minutes drive from Pattaya. This cafe offers a unique experience for both families with kids and foreign tourists. The owner of the cafe has a lovely mindset and has no entrance fee for Thai people, but a small fee for tourists. However, this fee is well worth it as the cafe offers an amazing live show, which is simply breathtaking. The show is similar to Tifanee show, with great dressing and stunning performances.

One of the highlights of MongChang Cafe is the abundance of animals available for visitors to interact with. There are deer, Meerkats, Buffalo, Ostriches, Sheep, and Goats roaming around the cafe, but the elephant is the real showstopper. Visitors can purchase a ticket to ride the elephant and take a tour around the cafe, including a stop at the pond.

In addition to the animal experience, MongChang Cafe also offers fresh grass and carrots for purchase, so visitors can feed the animals and get up close and personal with them. The cafe is surrounded by lush greenery, making it a peaceful escape from the busy city life.

The food and drink at MongChang Cafe is also of great quality and taste. There is a wide selection of food and drinks to choose from, making it a great place for a meal or just a snack. The cafe also offers plenty of free parking, making it easy for visitors to park their cars and enjoy the experience.

In conclusion, MongChang Cafe is a great landmark of Pattaya, offering a unique experience for both families and tourists. With a lovely mindset of the owner, a breathtaking live show, and plenty of animals to interact with, this cafe is definitely worth visiting. Overall, I would give MongChang Cafe a 7.5 out of 10 rating.

PS. There is a coin locker available...

nice place and would go again just for a pleasant afternoon out of town closer to nature and some animals.

I have seen other review stating it is free and only asking for donations. not completely true. if thai yes, if farang no. farang/foriegner even with proof of long term residence or local driver licence. the price is 300 baht where they give you a coupon for a "free" coffee or drink.

that aside it is a nice place for most people, snacks, coffee shop, mini zoo pond and stage performances.

parking is ok, not handicap but level. if in a wheelchair it is not good to visit, walk with a cane ok, some limits. some parking for cars only next to the front entry, around the side a larger area that can have busses.

the mini zoo had 3 or 4 types of goats, deer. water buffalo, pond, ostriches, racoon, marmoset, meerkat, small spotted cat, tortoise, parrot, parakeets, peacock. small monkey. many were friendly to feed. the sold bananas 100 baht, carrots 50 baht, bird fish food 20 baht, lots of green trees, pond with several seating options, seating area on ground level close to the stage show and pond with a top floor to get a better view of both the show and pond where they had swans, koi fish and the elephant rides took riders thru.

there are many photo opportunities, the bathrooms were clean with running water and soap. there are 1 or 3 steps depending on the room but no handrails.

the drinks selection is typical but some items were reasonable, fried rices a pizza normal price but coffee 150, slice of cake 160.

they had a market area but many unused stalls, the had an open sir show with costumes, lip syncing and an elephant. there were at least 2 other stages under a roof.

as I understand it the Cafe is a recent addition to try to support both the elephants and village of people that...

MongChang Cafe is located near Mabrachan Lake and about 10km from Pattaya city center. It’s easy to drive to MongChang cafe on different routes. If you arrive the area there you will find a big parking space. But it’s very crowded on the weekends! Because it’s a popular family destination. For Thai people the entree is free but Foreigners have to pay 300 Baht! For this you get a free drink. 🤡The drinks and foods are quite a lot expensive. There are many cosy places to relax or to make scenic photos! People like it to show it in social networks! 😂 There is also a little zoo. Nice for children. But actually sorry for the animals. You can feed elephants or fish. Bananas for the big giants are 100 Baht a basket and 20 Baht for fish food. Highlights are elephant ridings which also leads though a pond. It’s like a mini safari! Also great for children! But everybody enjoys feeding the elephants with bananas! It’s exciting how soft the giants take the food and it’s a pleasure to see how happy they are! In their eyes and their body language you see how grateful they are! And they have a great memory! If you come again they will know you as a friend and getting happy! Some photos and videos of the feeding are a nice memory and funny to show friends! On the end of the day is elephant bathing. This is nice to see! Elephants enjoy and are spraying water. After they are greeting all spectators and you can touch their trunk. I did not know that they like to dive underwater. 😊 Another highlight is the so called elephant show! But this show includes also some other animals and people! Me and my girlfriend enjoyed this amazing show very much. 🙏❤️🙏 The visit of MongChang Cafe was a nice experience! I can recommend to have a look there! Especially if you have children! Or if you like scenic...

Mong Chang, translated means stare at elephant. It is not too far away from Pattaya and a good place to visit for families with children. Although there is an entrance fee, this sanctuary for the small bunch of animals and sone elephants can’t survive on thin air. So, the contribution was well worth it because we found that the inhabitants were well fed. The elevated café is the centerstage of this venue. High up, we watched elephants strolling half submerged in the waterway under the afternoon sun. If you happen to sit in the one and only extended deck, the gentle giants come up close to play. There was no elephant show and that was a good thing. The elephants were mostly just strolling around the place under the watchful eye of the handler. Though the handlers were riding the giants, and some may not like idea, this is Thai culture after all. The place is shrouded in plenty of tall greenery. The sun may be unforgiving, but we were under shades. It was a Monday mid-noon, a time for lunch. There were quite a number of people there. I would expect that on weekends and holidays, this place will be packed. So, pick a good time to come, if it is relaxing under the canopy listening to the rustle of the leaves you want.

the entrance fee was a little overpriced for me. This is only place I don't like in this tour because you have to pay your every move. Take pictures with the Elephant? Pay the handler. Printed photos of the elephant and you? Pay the photographer. You want to ride the elephant? Pay again! I beg you not to ride the elephants because they look so sad and their body was not designed to carry heavy weight One elephant that was near me had tears falling on its cheeks. Unless it wasn't crying but they just look sad and tired. The handlers are riding the elephants and they have this axe that they use which has sharp edge and I'm not sure if it's harming the poor creature. One handler made the elephant kneel for a show and it was so terrible how they did it. There was a show and the performers will ask you to take pictures with them. I suggest that you refuse! There is payment for that picture. One performer one picture one hundred baht! Can you believe it? One Korean man was shocked because he didn't know he had to "tip" for just one picture! I do not recommend this place at all!
