Authentic Thai cuisine in a truly hidden gem – Michelin recommended and well deserved!
We recently had a fantastic family dinner at Lung Shall Kitchen in Pattaya, and it was one of the culinary highlights of our trip. The restaurant itself is very modest and unassuming from the outside – you’d probably walk past it if you didn’t know it was there. But once you step inside, you immediately feel welcome. It’s simple, clean, and focused on what really matters: the food.
And the food is absolutely outstanding. Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with a lot of care. The menu offers a great variety of traditional Thai dishes, from spicy salads to perfectly balanced curries and delicious seafood. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients – nothing felt mass-produced or reheated. It’s authentic, home-style cooking at its best.
What makes this place even more special is the fact that it’s been recommended in the Michelin Guide 2025. That’s how we found it in the first place – and it definitely lives up to the recommendation. It’s not fine dining in a fancy setting, but it delivers high-end flavor in a casual, local atmosphere.
Service was friendly, fast, and helpful, even though English is limited – but that just added to the charm. We felt very well taken care of and appreciated.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for real Thai food away from the tourist traps. We would...
Read moreI decided to patronise this place after I saw Mark Weins Youtube channel which featured this local Thai restaurant. It was also not far from our home (4.1km away). Luckily, we came early and had no issues getting a table. Cos the crowd started coming in after we arrived.
We ordered the Fish Tom Yum and Geng Khua Koong for lunch today. The food was so awesome, flavourful and inexpensive. Hence, the recently awarded Michelin Guide (Bib Gourmand).
The final bill came up to: 560 baht (with those 2 signature dishes, 2 bowls of rice and my infant sons Seafood Fried Rice and a 1.5 litre bottle of water).
I’ll definately bring my parents and guest here if they come to visit us...
Read moreThe fried fish & cooking smell from the kitchen came to guest tables. The smell was strong & stick to our hair & clothes. The Tom yum seafood was too spicy to savor. The prawn & squid in Yum Woon sen (vermicelli salad) were undercooked. When brought to the attention of the restaurant, the staff reply was that it was the way they serve. As if it was acceptable to have half cooked seafood!!! The fried fish was served cold. Because it was coated with batter, when served cold, it was soaky & oily. The crab meat fried rice was not amazing either. Big...
