I have been going to Tawandang on Rama3 with family, friends, colleagues and clients for 16 years. And for the life of me, I don't know why.
Maybe it's because they always treat me so well and always make my party feel like VIPs.
Starting with my name on the booking board against my table reservation when arrive, it goes from there to nothing less than a great night but invariably much much more.
Be-it a dinner meeting in the a-la-carte dinning room , a party in a prvate side room in site if the action, a couple of drinks and meal at the bar to talk and watch a show or to settle in for the whole night of full on entertainers, It is always a fun night.
These days when i drive myself, one of the always courtious parking valets will even park my car and the pleasure is mine to be able to can give him a tip when they bring it back at the end of the night.
Or maybe it is because it is just as good place to go that always impresses you with something new.
Mind you too I must say some of the staff have either been entertaining and serving the patrons for as many years. So to me they feel like close friends, being always happy to see me. That was my impression on my second visit years ago and, it has never changed.
But regardless of my tenure as a customer, I notice they never fail to be fresh to make everyone feel so very welcome too.
If that doesn't answer why Tawandang gets 5 stars from me along with those in the 2000+ seats that fill every night who seem to be saying that too the go figure.
If you all don't enjoy great food, a range of beers and beverages with great entertainment and great services And all at what most say very moderate restrauant prices, in a wonderfu and often a wonderous atmosphere, then Tawandang is...
Read moreWell, this restaurant really bumps me with a problem. I don't know what to say about it, on the one hand I found it okay and on the other hand I didn't. The truth is somewhere in the middle. The beer is certainly freshly brewed, but it doesn't taste good. I, as a German who grew up with a grandpa who is a brewer, must say: the beer really doesn't taste good. The beers drunk have nothing to do with the beer as we know it. The food was also rather average, well prepared but a little too tentative. And everything is totally overpriced. I can't say it otherwise, everything is too expensive and made on a show. Speaking of the show, the show in the evening is ok, you can look at it. The artists make a lot of effort and work hard, you can see. Overall, I find this place rather strange. It is a dollar machine. Made for tourists, the concept is also designed. The Sercice really tries, but annoying. You stand on your feet all the time. You hardly have time to choose food and drinks, 3 waiters wait with pulled ballpoint pen. impossible. The beer with 0.5 litre costs 200 baths, a beer test with 3 glasses, and a sip in it. Should 5 people share? Hello, what's the point! That is almost disgusting. With the amount of food, the kitchen, the chef, and the chefs do amazing things, no question. However, food is also designed for tourists. We have a German beer here, a brewery based on the German model ... And then there is sushi? Where are the German Bierhaus dishes? As a guest, I expect the right meal for the beer concept. At almost 15,000 baths for 4 people in the evening for food and drink, the experience was disappointing and leaves a bland aftertaste. Overall, it is also very loud and overcrowded. The main restaurant is like a...
Read moreI’ve visited this venue every single year for the last 25 years with my friends.
Tawandaeng German Brewery is a confluence of Western & Eastern themes.
Apart from Thai and some German cuisine there are a variety of Japanese offerings too.
While this venue is primed for German Beer offered in a variety of shades from Lager to Dunkel (dark), it won’t disappoint others types of patrons who prefer other spirits which are offered too.
The food is tasty, the ambience is great and the service is pretty good!
The heart of this venue is the live performance which starts around the time the sun sets and wraps up towards closing time.
You can expect a variety of performances, be it dancing, singing (English/Chinese/Japanese) and other spectacles.
The place is popular for birthday parties, friends gatherings and all sorts of chilling occasions. If you want to have a conversation l, the second floor is a better and slightly quieter place, whereas any decent conversation downstairs can only occur during performance breaks.
Most of the time, conversation takes a back seat as you will be engrossed in the spectacular performances.
Parking is plenty and a reservation is highly recommended as this venue is always...
